Arts and Older People Programme
Dance Goes Digital
Tie the Tales
Working with ISLAND resident dance company ‘Age on Stage,’ we are seeking care homes to take part in a pioneering Performing Arts project combining technology and dance.
We are now calling for schools and older people's groups to take part in a unique opportunity to work together to transform tales of times gone by into cutting edge animations.
Each care home will receive staff training opportunities and tailormade workshops aimed at choreographing a unique dance piece to be exhibited on both a local and regional level. Part of this project will also result in the development of an app for use in care homes to enhance memory-forming skills, rhythm, coordination and movement leaving a legacy beyond the lifetime of the project.
Through the sharing of life experiences, older people will participate in lively, spirited, interactive discussions and presentations. These social histories will then be compiled in a filmed anthology with images from people’s personal collections to ‘Tie the Tales’ together for a touring showcase at relevant venues in NI.
To participate in either of these projects please contact Lynda.
