Your child will need an Early Childhood Screening prior to beginning preschool or kindergarten in Minnesota. This free, mandatory screening is for all Minnesota children and is best done just after your child’s 3rd birthday. Screening is a simple, careful check of your young child’s speech and language, thinking skills, physical development, and social/emotional health.
