DELIVERING OUTSTANDING RESULTS

Welcome to spring – a season of hope, new beginnings, and new opportunities. As we transition into spring, moving toward the summer season, we hope each of you are feeling energized and mentally prepared for what lies ahead.

The Event Support Committee did an outstanding job coordinating the annual IMS Company Picnic this year. It was great to see the huge turn out and have the opportunity to engage with everyone who attended this year’s event at the Preservation Company. Wow, what a treat. The Preservation Company was an amazing venue and had an amazing inventory of reclaimed/reimagined home furnishing items to consider adding to the collection. Equally amazing was the atmosphere, food, and entertainment. Good friends, good food, and good times – can’t beat it!

What an amazing group of IMS teammates we have who work tirelessly to support our community and various fundraising events. This was never more evident than by the level of the support shown at the recent Huntsville Heart Walk event held May 11, 2024. The IMS Well-Being Committee was able to raise a significant amount of monies to support a worthy cause which is near and dear to us and the IMS Team. Additionally, we had several come out to participate and walk during the event to show their support. Together, we have made and will continue to make a great impact in serving our community. Your efforts and contributions have enabled us to continue to shine a light of hope and goodwill in our community. Thank you - your caring gestures and unwavering support was/is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed. As we transition toward the summer season, we encourage each of you to continue to harness the IMS culture of “Extreme Customer Focus®!” Our company continues to experience growth while others are restructuring. This is a testament to you and our culture. Our customers know we do what it takes to deliver outstanding results. Delivering outstanding results affords us the opportunity to keep adding, renewing, and winning contracts. These actions allow us to add strategic new additions to our team as well. Our goal is to maintain the philosophy of taking care of our employees while adding team members which support and benefit IMS as a whole.

We are very excited for what lies ahead for IMS! We would like to personally thank you for all your continued hard work and dedication. These are just a few of the many qualities that contribute to our biggest asset…you and the IMS Culture!

BEING AN AGENT OF POSITIVE CHANGE

Change is a fact of life. It happens constantly and should happen constantly. Winston Churchill once said, “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” It is important in our line of work, to be ready to accept change in our jobs every day. Let's face it, the U.S. Army of today looks nothing like the U.S. Army from the 80’s & 90’s when IMS Senior Leadership entered the workforce. There are many keys to successfully navigating change, but maybe the most important are being resilient, flexible and adaptable. To be resilient is to "let the water roll off your back," to not let negative thoughts derail your efforts and instead to consistently think positively. You are resilient if you can find the good in every situation, or, more meaningful to our work environment, if you can create good from any change that occurs. To be adaptive is to be responsive to new information. At work, adaptive personnel have the ability to be part of change by considering new roles and responsibilities that may include stepping out of your sweet spot, but ultimately may increase or improve your skill set.

To improve is to change; to be perfect To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
-WINSTON

CHURCHILL

To be flexible is to have the willingness to enter into a new role or responsibility, i.e. the willingness to be adaptive. So, let's apply these traits to some recent events. A few months ago, the U.S. Army restructured their aircraft portfolio. They certainly were evaluating how the Army could be more resilient, adaptive and flexible when they decided to change their priorities. We, as a company, have been preparing and positioning for change in our customer portfolio by expanding and diversifying our customer base, which ultimately lessens the impact of any one specific customer change, by increasing positive possibilities for that change to occur. It is now imperative more than ever as a defense contractor to be a positive agent as the Army changes priorities. Let's be resilient and not think about the negatives of the change, but rather how we can turn that change into good. Let’s be adaptive, by being open to new customers, new roles and new challenges/responsibilities within our jobs that may be driven by these changes. And finally, let’s have flexibility and the willingness to say “yes” to the change in our specific situation. Together we will get through the change, allowing employees to grow and make IMS a better company because of it.

Capturing Success: The Art of Capture Management

Recently the IMS Business Development Team hosted Class 2 of the BD Training Series which focused on Capture Management. Capture Management is a crucial process that businesses utilize to pursue and secure opportunities, typically contracts or projects. It involves identifying potential opportunities, understanding customer challenges and needs, analyzing competition, and writing winning proposals. Key elements of the capture management process include market research, relationship building, and effective communication with stakeholders. Additionally, the capture process requires input from a variety of individuals across multiple divisions at IMS. Your work at IMS could play a key role in a positive capture process!

If you were unable to attend BD Training Class 2: Capture Management, and would like to learn what was discussed, please contact bd@imsinc.us, and we are happy to share the information that was presented. A date for Class 3: Managing the Proposal will be announced within the coming months, so please keep an eye on your IMS email and the JAMIS dashboard for more details.

IT UPDATE

Hello and welcome back to the IT corner of the newsletter. Spring has finally sprung, and it is great to finally see some more sunshine and drive home from work without the headlights on. The pollen can be rough on the folks with allergies, but I think the tradeoff is worth it!

In the land of IT, we have been working hard on policies, SOPs, and other supporting documentation to get ready for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). If you are not familiar, CMMC was designed to implement assessment methods to verify that defense contractors are meeting the required measures of the Department of Defense security guidelines to protect sensitive data. These requirements were already in place but were weak due to the contracting agencies being able to selfassess. While this process is very demanding, we must ensure that IMS is at the highest standard and ready to submit for the certification.

We have also been busy with several customer meetings. As hosts, IMS has gained a large amount of recognition for the support given at the meetings. If you are the POC for an upcoming customer meeting or

internal meeting, feel free to reach out to us for support. We are available to do a trial/ troubleshoot run prior to the scheduled meeting. This is a great time to get a grasp on the layout of the conference room or training room, test with a Teams meeting and/or slide presentation.

I'd like to leave you with a little “IT” joke. Which shoes do computers love the most?

Don’t forget to reboot that computer when you get the message prompt. As always, thank you for working with us and feel free to reach out to us via email at helpdesk@imsinc.us or telephone at 256-704-9000.

QUALITY UPDATE

3i Turns Five!

In March, IMS Innovation and Improvement (3i) reached a milestone. The 3i program is now five years old and we just received our 200th suggestion. This warrants a milestone article featuring interesting tidbits about the program and its contributors. The program has had a 37% approval rate with 44% of the successful suggestions supporting IMS’ goal of improving Quality of Work, the third level of the IMS Company Pyramid. In reality, the approval rate would be a bit higher if not for duplicate suggestions and those made with already-implemented processes. In my view, this is a healthy statistic. It shows team focus on delivering Extreme Customer Service®. Along the same lines, the highest sub-category of submitted ideas is to “Save Time.” Anytime we can do something more efficiently, it allows us to spend more time with our customers and our families.

HERE ARE SOME HIGHLIGHTS:

The very first idea was posed by Michael Acosta (TSD) in March of 2019. This successful suggestion provided the basis for displaying PTO balance and PTO history in JAMIS. Just like any good idea, one wonders how we did without it.

The 100th suggestion was made in February 2021 by Robb Keeter (ESD), who suggested some updates to our onboarding training.

The 200th suggestion was made in April by Britney Coleman (Corp.) and it enhanced security at the reception front desk.

The most prolific participant is Chad Guerin (Corp.) with six suggestions of which two were approved. You may have noticed the folders present in every conference room. At IMS HQ, Chad suggested adding key audio-visual SOPs to the folder and placing them where needed.

Twelve of our employees have made two approved suggestions. This not only shows the diversity of the program, but also indicates confidence of the participants such that they return with additional ideas.

Six people batted 100% with two successful suggestions out of two submissions. An additional fourteen people were one for one.

Taylor Wilkerson (IPS), Cooper Taylor (Corp.) and Olivia Driggs (Corp.) made successful suggestions during their first couple days at IMS.

All four direct support divisions, as well as Corporate, have had robust participation and success.

BRITNEY COLEMAN suggested an idea to improve badge and key security at the front desk.

JOEY KNAPP identified a needed update in our travel document process.

One can see these and other 3i details by exploring the 3i SharePoint site. Here’s to another successful five years!

WELL-BEING COMMITTEE

ECLIPSE & CHIPS

April 8th was a big day with many members of Team IMS gathering at IMS HQ to watch the solar eclipse with some chips!

Snacking on salsa and queso, we gathered our glasses and watched as the moon passed between earth and the sun.

TRIVIA NIGHT

In March, the Well-Being Committee held a Trivia Night at The Nook. Over 30 IMS employees and their guests came out for happy hour and enjoyed a little friendly competition over some good pizza. Teams answered a variety of questions, ranging from “name that tune” to “this day in history” and everything in-between! In the end, team “Wikipedia” came out on top.

Ed Blancarte (TSD) and wife Ellen traveled to Bloomington, IN to experience the total solar eclipse on April 8. They brought their "Gort Goggles" made from cardboard, duct tape and welders glass. Joe Kanser (TTOS) and Jessica Clunan (Corp.) with their guests Nathan Mayes (TTOS/PM), Derek Newcomb (IPS), Marius Dockery (TTOS) and guest, Steve Davis (IPS), and Josh Miller (TTOS) Randall Shepard (TTOS), Ed Blancarte (TSD), Carlos Acevedo (TSD) with guest, and Michael Acosta (TSD) Lindsey Houke (Corp.) and Sean Clark (TSD) with their guests

HEART WALK

This year’s annual American Heart Association Heart Walk was one to beat - literally! The 2024 Huntsville Heart Walk alone set a new record for total donations, raising over $592,000 (and counting) in support of heart health initiatives and lifesaving scientific advancements.

IronMountain Solution’s donation efforts were also met with incredible generosity, especially through the virtual silent auction. Thanks to everyone who donated items and bid/purchased items, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal of $5,000, raising an impressive $6,730. The Well-Being Committee and Heart Walk coaches, Jessica Clunan and Jessi Malone, worked hard to lead Team IMS in fundraising efforts this year. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Heart Walk participants enjoyed a scenic route in perfect weather around Big Spring Park, taking a 3-mile walk through downtown Huntsville, all in support of a great cause. It was a joy to see survivors proudly sporting their red and white hats, with children survivors adding a touch of superhero flair with their red capes, "flying" around the park. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this year's Heart Walk a memorable and impactful event!

ESD UPDATE

The first part of the year always seems to move so quickly and be fast paced as we prepare for Spring Break, Easter and ramp up towards the end of the school year. 2024 did not disappoint on the usual faster pace especially around IMS and ESD.

Since the last ESD Update, our team was awarded a new prime contract! The National Capital Region Integrated Air Defense System (NCR-IADS) is a critical mission for our Joint Force, as it is an important part of protecting some critical assets. We are grateful to the IMS BD Team, as well as several team members that assisted in the writing of this proposal. With new work, comes new faces – we are happy to welcome Tom Gale, Jeff Herman , and (transferring from TTOS) David Keith . We are excited to have them as part of the ESD team and to show our new customer what Extreme Customer Focus® is about!

We are so grateful for our employees and families that continue to make IMS and ESD an incredible place! We look forward to seeing many of you at get togethers over the next couple of months.

TTOS UPDATE

The TTOS Division had a family outing to watch the Huntsville Havoc Game play Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs on February 23rd. It was an exciting game, and the Havoc did not disappoint. They defeated the Roanoke 6-3! It was great seeing all the families that made it out!

EMPLOYEE TESTIMONIAL

" Being a part of the TTOS division has taught me to always accept a challenge head on and work at it until it is no longer a challenge but a vanquished foe. I was tasked with creating a process by which reports created by running the Integrated Calibration Environment software were able to be copied to external memory. The original reports were then moved to a backup folder for storage on the CALSETS-C Instrument Controller. I took on the challenge here at PD TMDE by donning my computer science hat and taking the reins of creating the process. It was fun being able to resharpen my programming skills and be an integral part of the team in not only creating the process but also in fine tuning it through testing. It is always a joy to be able to support the government customer in completing the mission using every skill that is available. "

IPS UPDATE

On March 28, the IPS division gathered at the Back Forty Beer Co. in Huntsville to share good food and drinks with great fellowship as IMS team members. Several members of the IPS division’s family were also able to attend, which made the gathering even more special.

Sam Clark, IPS Vice President, spoke at the event and reminded the team how important our efforts are to the customers and what an impact we make, as well as the upholding positive reputation that IMS has in the community. Sam encouraged us by sharing what he hears from customers and the community, saying, “No matter where I go, people are always

telling me that IMS does a great job!” If you were not able to attend this event, we encourage you to make plans in the future and enjoy the company of your team members in IPS.

CUSTOMER KUDOS: MIKE EGAN

During an ATE All Hands meeting, Mrs. Gina Bublitz, ATE Project Manager, recognized the ITEP Funding Position COA Development Team and thanked them for a job well done. Mike Egan was on this team and worked diligently to develop COAs for pending funding decrements. In November 2023, ITEP incurred a significant funding decrement in a preliminary FY25 position from HQDA. In support of a revised POM brief on January 10th, 2024, a team of ITEP and ATE personnel worked tirelessly to identify courses of action for the program and to prepare those COAs for briefing to ASA (ALT) in ITEP's revised

POM and charting a course for successful qualification and fielding of the T901. Mike specifically assisted in the development of the COA Briefings for Senior Army Leadership and maintained version control for multiple edits, changes, and messaging in support of high-level leadership briefings within the Pentagon. Mike is a true example of an IMS team member applying our core company values at the highest levels.

Well done, Mike!

JUDY DIMASO

TTOS TEAM LEAD & SOFTWARE LEAD FOR APACHE SENSORS

Judy has been a team member of IronMountain Solutions for over two and a half years. Prior to joining Team IMS, she worked on NASA’s Human Landing System (HLS) program. She fondly remembers that time, stating “It was pretty cool. I have always wanted to be a steely-eyed missile (wo)man!” After having spent 10 years supporting PM ASE, Judy decided to join IMS to get back to program office support work. “I have coded, tested, written requirements, defined processes, and managed teams. Program office support work is a natural progression – you’ve ‘been there, done that’ and know what’s important.”

Judy was born and raised in New Jersey where she earned her degree at Rutgers University. It was following this time that she was introduced to the government contracting world. “My second job out of college was at the Joint Interoperability Test Command at Fort Monmouth, NJ, writing Fortran code for communications simulations. I enjoyed the work and the environment and never looked back.”

Judy spent years as a short-term contract engineer, moving quite often, and in 2002 she took a contract in Huntsville to be closer to her parents who had retired to north Georgia. In 2006, she met Eric Rogers - Aerospace Engineer, fellow musician and transplant from Minnesota - while they were both playing saxophone in local bands around Huntsville. They were married in 2008 and their family now consists of Judy and her husband, her two adult stepdaughters Sarah and Susie, and four judgmental cats: Dagobah, Naboo, Yoda, and Chewy.

Upon joining IMS, Judy recalls receiving “the most excellent swag any company has ever offered anywhere at any time,” and she has been on the receiving end of IMS’ Extreme Employee Focus ever since. In return, Judy has made it her goal to provide her customers with the Extreme Customer Focus® IMS strives to deliver. She has achieved this goal so well that in March she was promoted to TTOS Team Lead! We are glad to call Judy a member of Team IMS!

JOE LOCHRIDGE

AH-64 D/E SME

Joe Lochridge recently joined IronMountain Solutions and is the AH-64 D/E SME in the TTOS Division. After his Army career ended, he was looking for ways to give back to the Apache Community. “I grew up taking flight lessons in a Cessna 172 with one of my father’s Vietnam buddies. After the war, he became a local flight instructor and would give me free lessons if I’d wash and wax his plane once a month. Ever since, I’ve been absolutely fascinated with flight. This role was perfect as I’m no longer able to fly. I want to ensure that I’m assisting in providing the units a fielded training device that is as close to resembling true flight characteristics in the Apache Helicopter as possible.”

Joe was born and raised in small mountain town called Kings Beach in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. He grew up backpacking, hunting, fishing, and skiing in the Sierras. He always wanted to fly and be a police officer. He loves the outdoors and enjoys spending most of his free time either working out with his son, training him to throw the shot put and discus or doing yard work.

After graduating from LSU, he worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for six years. “I worked SWAT operations and was a full time Narcotics Detective for five of the six years. After the war continued, I decided that I wanted to serve my country and enlisted in the Infantry out of Baton Rouge. I went through the Ft. Benning Sniper School and successfully completed the program. Shortly after, I submitted my Warrant Officer Packet and was accepted to flight school. After completion of flight school, I worked as an additional duty safety officer, the Battalion Flight Operations Officer, the Company Aviation Life Support Officer, and the Unit Movement Officer. After making Pilot in Command, I tracked Maintenance and went to the Maintenance Test Pilot Course and Aviation Maintenance Officer Course at Ft. Rucker. My final job in the Army was Squadron Production Control Officer where I oversaw the fielding of V6 Apache Helicopters and the day-to-day maintenance operations of the Squadron.”

She’s currently seeking employment locally but is already an assistant track and field coach for James Clemens High, where she coaches the throwing events, discus and shot put. Our son, Casey (15), is a freshman at James Clemens High School, he throws the shot put and discus on the track and field team and is excited to play football next fall. Our daughter, Quinn (11), is in 5th grade at Heritage Elementary and is involved with AYSO soccer where Katie is also an assistant coach.”

EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER Q2

Congratulations to Jim Thomson for being selected as IMS’ Employee of the Quarter for Q2 of 2024! Jim is a Senior Analyst supporting the PEO Aviation Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). His commitment to delivering Extreme Customer Focus® continues to amplify IMS’ commitment to our customers. This quarter alone, Jim has received accolades from PEO, DPEO, and CoS and was recognized by the PEO (BG Phillips) as part of the strategic communications team.

Congratulations, Jim!

Jim often supports IMS BD initiatives both organically and inorganically. Jim was instrumental in creating a new PEO HQ billet requirement that IronMountain was able to fill while also providing the candidate. He participated in the Red Team Review for the PEO AVN HQ TS/SCI Proposal where he was able to provide insight directly from his knowledge gained from supporting the SIG. He also continues to represent IMS by his service on the Senior Advisory Board for IAC MAC proposal development in a partnership between IMS and SAIC.

Jim enjoys volunteering with efforts such as making holiday gift bags for the homeless in Athens, AL with Hearts for Homeless organization and sitting on the Board of Directors member for the AAAA Trade schools, Licensing, and Certification committee which provides grants for qualified applicants not seeking college scholarships. As a member of the IMS Employee Peaks Fund Board of Directors, Jim reviews, assesses, and makes recommendations twice annually on IMS EPF grant applications. He is a great representative of IMS in the community. His actions speak volumes about the type of person he is and his desire to serve his community.

Jim’s selfless dedication to IMS’ success and being the epitome to service within our communities has been the gold standard for others around him. Thank you, Jim, for representing IronMountain Solutions and the mission of Extreme Customer Focus®.

NON-PROFIT SPOTLIGHT:

HUDSONALPHA INSTITUTE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY

HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is a nonprofit organization that IMS supports through several annual fundraising events, educational programs, and community support. This research facility is a remarkable educational means for cancer and genetic testing. The Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine is HudsonAlpha’s clinic that diagnoses patients with undiagnosed or misdiagnosed conditions. This clinic was established for patients interested in genomic testing and identifying DNA that may be linked to diseases, drug interactions, etc. The clinic offers whole genome sequencing testing, which reads a patient’s entire DNA. This test is beginning to enter routine clinical practices. The test is designed to determine the genetic makeup of an individual by sequencing the entire genome. HudsonAlpha works very closely with St. Jude and local health care facilities to determine treatment plans.

One of IMS’ favorite events to sponsor is the Double Helix Dash. This 5K and 1-mile fun run winds through a double helix path on the HudsonAlpha campus. The dash brings hundreds of runners, walkers and community supporters out to an evening event that helps raise funds for families seeking answers to their genetic disorders. Unfortunately, this year the event was cancelled due to storms, but the funding from the Double Helix Dash will still assist with the research to better develop tools for diagnosing and treating pediatric cancers, as well as other diseases.

used in genomics. HudsonAlpha is committed to the goal of using genomic science to find breakthroughs in breast and ovarian cancers, working with other scientists in hopes of finding answers and making a difference. There is a simple cheek swab cancer screening test that is free for those between the ages of 28 – 30. You can call 256-327-9597 or informationispower@hudsonalpha.org to see if you qualify.

Another amazing event IMS sponsors is the Tie the Ribbons annual luncheon that helps fund breast and ovarian cancer research. This event showcases the work being

HudsonAlpha offers educational classes and programs for the community through a program called HudsonAlpha U Nights.

The IMS Employee Peaks Fund (EPF) summer 2024 grant cycle is well underway! After receiving 31 eligible applications by the April 12th deadline, the EPF Board of Directors has been hard at work reviewing each application. This grant cycle, the EPF is excited to present $xxxxx to non-profits based on the votes of the contributors! Make plans to attend the Summer Grant Reception on Friday, June 14 at 3:00 p.m. at the Corporate Office.

If you're not a contributor but would like to learn more about the Employee Peaks Fund, check out the impact stories from local non-profits on the IMS Team SharePoint! There's also an "EPF Overview" resource that shares more details on why we choose to give back to our community. As open enrollment approaches, this is an ideal time to review your payroll deductions! Ensure you complete your Open Enrollment module before midnight CDT Wednesday, June 5th.

If you have any questions, please contact epf-bod@imsinc.us.

As IMS grows, the EPF’s impact grows! Did you know that we have IMS team members in seven different states? This grant cycle, we had our first applicant from a state that does not border Alabama! The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas is one of the EPF applicants currently up for voting. The EPF BoD’s goal is to continue to represent all employee contributors and non-profits, including those outside of Alabama. Check out Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas’ grant request summary and other applicants in your IMS email if you are a contributor.
