Conditions of Sale
1. The stock will be sold in the order in which they appear in the catalogue and the highest bidder on each lot on the fall of the hammer will be declared the purchaser. If any dispute shall arise between two or more bidders then the lot in dispute will be put up again and resold, or the purchaser may be declared by the auctioneers.
2. The pedigree and description of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty and therefore shall be taken with all faults and errors of description.
3. All animals are at the risk of vendor before sale and the purchaser after the sale. The auctioneer accepts no responsibility for damage or injury caused to the animal in the sales yard or in its precinct thereof.
4. The service dates, while believed to be correct, cannot however be guaranteed.
5. All lots will be sold in euro. Purchaser will be charged a fee of 5% of sale price.
6. Purchasers shall, if and when required, give their names and address to the auctioneers and shall if required, pay to the auctioneers the purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the auctioneers may require.
7. Purchaser paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce banker’s reference.
8. No lots shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf of the auctioneers.
9. Each lot shall, at the purchasers expense, be removed from the sale premises within a reasonable time after the close of the day’s sale.
10. All statement in the catalogue or made by the auctioneer at the time of sale relating to the animal are believed to be correct. No sale shall be invalidated by reason of any defect of faults in any of the animals by reason of any of the animals being incorrectly described in the catalogue, or by the Auctioneer in the ring, and no compensation shall be paid in respect of any faults or errors of description.

Emlach Flock
The Emlach Flock was established in 2005. The foundation ewes were purchased from long established flocks including- Ballybrooney, Chessy, Foundry & Oberstown. Since then top quality ewes have been purchased privately from renowned British flocks including Auldhouseburn,Claybury,Forkins, Cherryvale, and Teglium. In recent years, with the help of embryo transfer work, we have taken the flock from strength to strength resulting in great successes in the show ring. In particular at National Show Events. These include- All Ireland Hogget Ewe 2011, All Ireland Open Ram Lamb 2012, All Ireland Junior Ram Lamb 2013, Reserve Male Champion at the National Championships 2017. Great success has also been achieved at our Premier Show & Sale where the Emlach flock had the Overall Champion, First prize Group of 3 Ram lambs, second prize Ewe lamb - all in 2019! Following on to sell Emlach Derrick to the Springwell Flock in 2020 for €3800. Again, 2024 & 2025 have been fantastic years for the Emlach Flock. Emlach Hulk & Hercules sold at the ‘24 Premier Sale for €3500 & €2200 respectively. We were delighted to have both Female & Male Champion as well as Overall Champion at the Second Premier Sale-2024 in Carnaross & Emlach Hamlet went on to top the sale and subsequently sold to Edward Buckley for €3700. On the same day, Emlach had the female Champion also, a Claybury Dunkirk Ewe lamb sold for the top female price on the night-€1450 selling to David Craig, A full sister of this ewe lamb is for sale this here today. Emlach Impressive & Ironman sold at this year’s Premier sale for €3500 & €1700. These two ET brothers were out of Emlach Glorianne. Emlach Glorianne sold at this sale last year. Our top Inlamb ewe at this year’s sale is a half sister of Glorianne and is carrying twins to Knockhill Great Expectations who was All Ireland Junior Ram Lamb and Reserve Overall Male Champion 2023.

Silverhill Flock
The Silverhill Texel flock, established in 1989, has always focused on producing top-quality stock for both pedigree and commercial breeders by sourcing the best bloodlines over the years. The flock has been performance-recorded annually, ensuring consistent progress and improvement.
The use of embryo transfer (ET) has placed the flock in a strong position to offer top-quality breeding females for sale. The females offered in this sale have the potential to enhance future flocks, flushing programs, or show teams.
We operate a high-health-status closed Texel flock, with the following management practices in place:

KILCURLEY TEXELS
The flock was established in 2006 with the purchase of females from the Foundry and Chessy flocks. It has always been our aim to produce Texel’s with size, power and correctness for the commercial and pedigree sheep breeders. The purchase of females from the Springwell, Tullagh, Springhill, Milestonehill and Stainton flocks have had a massive impact on our flock, especially the Springwell ewe. She has won champion Tullamore Show 2016 and 2017 and has numerous interbreeds and championship show titles to her name. Also the purchase of stock rams Hartside Assassain, Stainton Coca Cola and Harestone Commander have had a big impact on our flock. Most of the gimmers selling today are by Hillcrest Gucci Blessington Premier Sale Champion 2023. This is a good straight bunch of hoggets who should click well with their service sires.

The Annakisha Flock was established in 2001. The purchase of ewes from top flocks in Ireland and the UK have been responsible for our major successes over the years. Most notably: in the All Ireland 2025 we had two first prize winners, Female Champion, Reserve Female Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion. At the National Championships we had four first prize winners, Female Champion, Reserved Female Champion and Supreme Champion. Other successes include: Supreme Champion All Ireland 2023, Reserve Supreme Champion 2024, Male Champion National Championships 2023, Female Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion All Ireland Finn Valley 2022, Reserve Interbreed Champion 2022. At the National Championships, Clonmel 2022 we had Supreme Champion with our gimmer. Supreme Female Champion Premier Show and Sale 2017, 2019 and 2021.
The flock has also enjoyed championship success at numerous shows around the country, including National Livestock Show Tullamore Champion 2012, 2013, 2022, 2023 and 2025, Reserve Champion 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2024. We also had Supreme Champion at the South West Championships 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. At the premier sale 2025 ram lambs sold for 5,200gns, 6,500gns and 12,000gns.

Shannagh Flock The Shannagh flock has been breeding Texels for over 35 years, and consistently feature amongst the top averages at participated sales, with several rams selling in he €2-2500 range with others selling at €2600 and €3200. Females have sold up to €4200, and a previous sale female was the GDam of the €9000 lamb sold in Blessington this year for the McHugh brothers. Our policy has always been to use the best available genetics within the breed and this years entry is testament to that. Ryan Texels
Ryan Texels are based between the villages of Prosperous and Robertstown in Co.Kildare. We specialise in the production of naturally produced shearlings, these shearlings both rams and ewes are produced mostly on grass with minimal concentrates fed for six weeks before sale.
At Ryan Texels we aim to produce what is needed by today’s commercial sheep farmers. We pride ourselves in producing rams & ewes that are ready for work and when we sell our sheep, they are fit not fat.
Every year the stock rams we use are selected from the top genetics available, including Dutch and French imports in the past. In 2020 we invested in New Zealand Bloodlines with the purchase of Foras Y So Because and in 2021 we purchased Foras Crackerjack both 100% NZ bred. Stock Rams are purchased each year at Blessington Premier Sale and other main sales throughout the country some of the successful sires used in producing these 21 shearlings are Annaghdown Goldfinger and Goldstar, Agricare Eminem, Kilclammon Fonzie, Bawnard Fionan and Trojan Fokker.
All our sheep are eligible for export.
HEALTH STATUS
All our ewes are in the Enzovax, Toxovax and Heptavac P vaccination programme. Our flocks are also in the Scrapie Monitoring Scheme and all our ewes are eligible for export on sale day. Our ewes were shorn on June 8th, Summer dipped on July 18th they received Fluke & Worm drench on November 28th and bolused with Tracesure boluses on Dec 1st.
16 of our ewes this year are ARR ARR and 20 of our ewes are in lamb to ARR ARR rams. Harvey is an outstanding very well muscled so of the NZ ram Foras Crackerjack, Harvey was purchased at this year’s Sheep Ireland Sale his dam is bred by some of the best bloodlines
that were used in the Ballybur Flock to include Kilclammon Branston and Hillcrest Yeovil, Harvey has excellent replacement figures which has him in the top 4% in the country.
Annaghdown Goldfinger – 13,000 purchase at Blessington Premier 2024. We have 7 daughters of Goldfinger and 4 daughters of his full brother Goldstar in the sale.

I Robot was purchased at the Blessington Premier he is a very naturally produced smart well muscled lamb that is showing lots of potential, he is a son of the very successful sire Kilcurley Evan.

Glen was purchased in 2024 for his outstanding length and confirmation Glen is in the top 1% for Replacement and top 3% for Terminal. Glen is by the NZ sire Crackerjack and his dam line includes the very successful Foundry Achilles and Millfarm Umbro.
Frenchbrook Flock
Frenchbrook Texels was established in 2020. Since then we have focused on buying select top quality females from renowned British & Irish Flocks including Lakeview, Curley, and Plasucha which has resulted in great success in the show and sales ring.
2025 has been another very successful year for our flock. The highlight of the year was winning Reserve Female Champion in Blessington with our ewe lamb for the 2nd year in a row and later selling for €3200. She was bred be our homebred hogget Ewe that was Reserve Female Champion at the Nationals in Charleville last year. Another half sister stood 4th in the Blessington Ewe Lamb Lineup and sold for €3000. Other Blessington Highlights this year included Frenchbrook Ironman €2800 and Frenchbrook Iceman €2200 to Hillcrest Texels.
Our ram lamb Frenchbrook Im Your Man claimed the Overall Supreme Champion of the Show at the North Connacht Championships in Enniscrone with over 100 texel sheep present. He later sold at the 2nd Premier Sale for €2300. At the North Connacht Premier Sale our ram lamb Frenchbrook Inbetweener claimed the Overall Reserve Champion and later sold for €2300 to a pedigree flock.
The highlight of 2024 was taking the Overall Champion at the National Championships with our ram lamb Frenchbrook Hotshot who sold later in the year to the renowned Ettrick Flock in Scotland for €5000gns. He was shown at the Highland Show this year as a shearling placing 5th. We have 1 full sister to Hotshot included in this sale.
We have included some super sheep in this sale including a very special hogget ewe. She was our Jnr. Ewe lamb from 2024 and was unbeaten in the show ring last year winning the March ewe lamb class in the All Irelands in Dundalk, and the National Championships in Charleville. She also won the Reserve Overall Champion at the North Connacht Championships.

The Donnelly Flock was established in 1996 with the purchase of ewes from the Tysaxon and Chessy Flocks. Select ewes have been added over the years from the flocks of Ballybrooney, Bailey’s, Cherryvale, Derrylahan and Forkins Flocks, with the most recent purchases coming from the Oberstown & Silver hill flocks.
The flock has achieved certain success’s over the years at the National Championships, Winning Reserve Overall Champion in both 2016 and 2017. The Senior Ewe Lamb class was won three consecutive years in a row in 2016,2017 and 2018. In 2019 the National Male Reserve All Ireland Champion was awarded to a ram lamb from the flock. No sheep have been shown since 2019.
At the Premier Sales a ram lamb was awarded Blessington Premier Sale Reserve Overall Champion in 2017 selling for €4800. Last year proved a successful year for our closely related sister flock selling Annefield Hugo at Blessington Premier Sale for €15,000, followed up in 2025 by claiming Reserve Supreme Champion with Annefield Idol selling for €20,000. Lambs also sold for €5,000 and €2,500 on the day.
Females have sold successfully over the years at this sale with prices of €2100, €2400, €2400, €2500, €3000, €3000 and a top of €5200 achieved.

Important: The Pedigree Information printed in this catalogue is as supplied by or on behalf of the breeder. The responsibility for the accuracy of the information therefore rests solely with the breeder and not Sheep Ireland.
Evaluations should never be the only tool you use when selecting animals for breeding. Animals must also be examined to ensure the animal is also physically correct; an animal that is not physically correct (ie. mouth, feet, etc.) cannot compensate for this fault regardless of its evaluation and should be avoided for breeding purposes. €uroStars – How to interpret them
• Each star represents where the animal ranks on each index in 20% bounds
• One star represents the bottom 20% of the breed for that trait
• Five star represents the top 20% of the breed for that trait
• The higher the stars, the higher the predicted profitability of that animal
Animals that only have the outline of a star represent animals that have within flock evaluations, this means the star rating of these animals cannot be compared to any other animals from a different flock.

• This is displayed with a shaded line, the further to the right these are on the scale, the better its position within the breed.
Acc% (Accuracy%)
• This figure is very important as it represents the amount of data behind each evaluation. Where Acc% is low, much less emphasis should be placed on the evaluation, and vice versa.
• Accuracy is displayed for the Replacement & Terminal Indices. It is not displayed for the four sub-traits. If an animal has high accuracy on Replacement & Terminal, it will be high accuracy across all traits.

1) Replacement (€3.44) – If a farmer desires a ram to breed both lambs both for slaughter and replacement ewe lambs then they should select a ram based on this index. The bulk of this index is a combination of Lamb Survivability, Days to Slaughter, No. of lambs born & Daughters milk. The € value beside the index represents the difference in profit that each lamb sired from this ram will have. This € value is an across breed value, so different breeds can be compared to each other.
2) Terminal (€2.86) – If a farmer desires a ram to breed only lambs for slaughter then they should select a ram based on this index. The bulk of this index is a combination of Lamb Survivability and Days to Slaughter. The € value beside the index represents the difference in profit that each lamb sired from this ram will have. It is recommended that intending members contact the Society Secretary prior to purchasing foundation stock.
€65 Entrance Fee & €50 Annual Membership Fee = €115

Details of Ewes & Rams owned must be submitted with application; otherwise it will not be processed. It is each applicant’s responsibility to supply all information as required to be considered for membership of the Society.
