Curriculum for Years 10 and 11

The following subjects form part of the CORE CURRICULUM for all pupils

English Maths Life Skills Sports

SCIENCES - pupils choose ONE of the following options:

A 3 separate sciences - Biology, Chemistry and Physics - leading to 3 separate GCSEs

B 2 separate sciences - from Biology, Chemistry and Physics - leading to 2 separate GCSEs

C Combined Science in 3 timetabled columns, leading to 2 Combined Science GCSEs

Option B allows students to choose an additional GCSE subject

OPTIONS

Pupils must choose FOUR of the following subjects, including at least ONE modern foreign language. Pupils who choose Science option B choose FIVE subjects. One group will be able to choose Latin and a modern foreign language

The Edge is our Life Skills programme for Sixth Formers which includes training as a Mental Health First Aider, and topics such as health and fitness, cooking and digital lifestyles. Many students also undertake an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Over 80% of exams graded A*-B, over one in six graded A* and 100% pass rate in all 26 subjects. Number

In 2023, over one in five pupils achieved all their GCSEs at grade 7 or above - 29 pupils - and three pupils achieved straight grade 9s.
