Call for Participants - Trainers Development Camp (TDC) 2018 26th February - 2nd March 2018, Peru

This year IPSF aims to train a generation of trainers within the Federation in order to expand the Training Programme and strengthen the Professional Development portfolio. The event targets pharmacy students with previous leadership experience as a part of their national/local organization, regional working group etc. The TDC is an opportunity to develop the necessary skills for training session design and delivery. If you’re interested to share your knowledge, motivate other students, and contribute to the IPSF Training Programme, apply for IPSF Trainers Development Camp now! You will spend six amazing days in a challenging and stimulating environment learning to shape future leaders! At the end of the TDC, participants will be challenged to provide trainings and put into practice all they have learned during the event. Upon completion of the TDC and fulfillment of additional requirements, graduates will be awarded the title of an IPSF Trainer.

How will you benefit from the event? The Trainers Development Camp (TDC) is primarily aimed at pharmacy students with a passion for fostering professionalism in others and those who wish to contribute to the IPSF Training Programme. The TDC will provide the participants with background about experience-based learning and training design as well as equip them with necessary skills to deliver trainings. TDC graduates can then become IPSF trainers once they’ve proven their competency which requires a certain number of hours for delivering training to be completed and the submission of reports respectively. As an IPSF Trainer and experienced TDC graduates you’ll be able to conduct workshops at IPSF World Congress and Regional Symposia. You may also provide services at IPSF Leaders in Training events as well as conducting events for IPSF member associations upon invitation

Event details: Organization Background The Peruvian Association of Pharmacy and Biochemistry Students (APEFYB) is an IPSF Member-inAssociation. The association was founded with the objective to unite pharmacy students from public and private faculties across the country in addition to raising awareness on public health issues, promoting pharmaceutical knowledge and education as well as professional development, and interacting with pharmacy students worldwide. Since its inception in 2015, APEFYB has played in active role within the Federation, consistently participating in regional events and the Student Exchange Programme (SEP) and, more recently, claiming the first place prize in the global Live Vampire Cup in 2017. Within the IPSF Professional Development portfolio, IPSF organizes a Trainers Development Camp for an aspiring generation of trainers within the Federation. The next edition is due to be hosted for the first time in the Pan American region in Peru by the Peruvian Association of Pharmacy and Biochemistry Students (Asociación Peruana de Estudiantes de Farmacia y Bioquímica, APEFYB) from the 26th February to the 2nd March of 2018.

Methodology Over five days, 20 students and recent graduates from all over the world will gather to take part in learning their role in the development of training programmes and trainings. These skills will allow participants to utilize their training foundation to host leadership and professional development workshops. By participating in TDC, IPSF hopes to grow the ability of the Federation to host an increasing number of professional development events globally.
