MERCK GRANTS RIGHTS TO TUTOPROM™ SURFACE COATINGS TO DURXTREME Merck concede i diritti dei rivestimenti superficiali tutoProm™ a durXtreme

erck, a leading science and technology company, announced a cooperation agreement with durXtreme GmbH of Ulm, Germany. Effective immediately, the coatings specialist will take over Merck’s European business with polysilazanebased coating formulations marketed under the tutoProm™ brand.

Con effetto immediato, lo specialista di rivestimenti si occuperà del mercato europeo di Merck riguardante le formulazioni dei rivestimenti a base di polisilazani commercializzati con il marchio tutoProm™.
A high-performance coatings specialist The tutoProm™ product range was added to the Merck portfolio through the acquisition of AZ Electronic Materials and has been marketed by durXtreme since 2014. According to the cooperation agreement, durXtreme is receiving an exclusive five-year license covering manufacturing, commercialization and brand usage rights for the polysilazane containing Merck products tutoProm™ bright, tutoProm™ matt HD, CAG 37, and CL 1068 in Europe. DurXtreme is an established formulation expert and specialist in customized polysilazane-based high-performance coatings and their applications. “We are delighted to have found a highly qualified partner for our customers and are certain that durXtreme will expand the business further,” said Michael Weiden, Head of Functional Materials within the Performance Materials business sector of Merck. “Going forward, we at Merck will focus on our core competencies in material production, and not on coating manufacturing.” At the same time, the commercialization of the polysilazane binder Durazane™ will be transferred back to Merck. Durazane™ products are employed to produce high performance coatings for surface protection and have also been marketed by durXtreme since 2014.
Glass-like, permanent barrier coating against graffiti TutoProm™ is a transparent coating system that allows for an ultra-thin, glass-like finish and lasting soiling protection to smooth, non-suction surfaces. It is applied in the interiors and on the exteriors of public transport for graffiti protection and is also used to protect building facades, ship hulls, classic cars, and artworks in public spaces from negative environmental influences. TutoProm™ ideally complements the durXtreme portfolio, which offers a broad range of products specifically developed for ultra-thin yet highly durable surface coatings in industrial applications. According to the cooperation agreement covering tutoProm™, durXtreme GmbH will also receive access to manufacturing know-how and take over the existing customer base of Merck for polysilazane-containing finished formulations. Secondo l’accordo di cooperazione, durXtreme riceverà una licenza di 5 anni per produzione, commercializzazione e diritto di utilizzo del marchio in Europa per i prodotti Merck contenenti polisilazani, come tutoProm™ bright, tutoProm™ matt HD, CAG 37, e CL 1068. I prodotti Durazane™ sono impiegati per produrre rivestimenti ad alte prestazioni per la protezione superficiale e sono stati anch’essi commercializzati da durXtreme dal 2014.
Rivestimento levigato per una barriera permanente contro i graffiti TutoProm™ è un rivestimento trasparente che consente una finitura ultra sottile levigata e una protezione duratura dallo sporco per superfici lisce e non-assorbenti. È applicato in interni ed esterni nei servizi di trasporto pubblico per la protezione antigraffiti ed è utilizzato anche per proteggere dai fattori ambientali negativi facciate, scafi delle navi, auto classiche e opere d’arte negli spazi pubblici. TutoProm™ complementa il portfolio durXtreme, che offre un’ampia gamma di prodotti sviluppati specificamente per rivestimenti ultra sottili a lunga durata per applicazioni industriali. In base all’accordo di cooperazione che riguarda tutoProm™, durXtreme GmbH avrà inoltre accesso al know-how produttivo e si occuperà della base di clienti attuale di Merck per le formulazioni di finiture contenenti polisilazani.
