echler has always offered coating solutions dedicated to the recovery of industrial buildings’ coatings made with pre-painted metal panels, commonly defined as “cladding”. With the entry into force of the Additional Decree of 2010 with respect to the 2004/42/ EC Directive concerning the regulation of VOC emissions and the impact of products also used to maintain the cladded buildings, the R&D laboratories of Lechler have focused on the development of waterbased products meeting the new regulatory requirements. Lechler is now able to offer a complete coating system composed of an anticorrosion primer and two finishes – gloss and matt – derived from the polyvalent tinting system Lechsys Hydro. They are the rapiddrying one-component acrylic top coats HYDROCRYL 1K YD157 and YD158 and the anti-corrosion product 1K HYDROPRIMER YD101, available in a variety of colours, too. The successful characteristics of the two enamels are easiness of application and good look, excellent mechanical properties and fast drying quality; the primer, on the other hand, has excellent adhesion properties on the already existing coatings and good direct adhesion on steel and cast iron. Hydrocryl 1K has been developed to provide the operators of the cladding field with a specific, low environmental impact solution for the restoration of buildings subjected to cladding applied by airmix or airless spray. The advantage for the companies from this sector is the opportunity to be supplied justin-time by any Lechler’s official distributor who has the Lechsys Hydro tinting system, with a rich colorimetry of colours specific for this sector. Ad hoc colours can be realised, too, by tailoring them to the needs of the customers who specific requests. Hydrocryl 1K (in both the glossy and the matte versions) has been extensively tested not only in the R&D laboratories of Como, Italy, but also through some market tests carried out on the British territory, where the cladding technology for industrial buildings is widespread. Le caratteristiche premianti dei due smalti sono la facile applicabilità con un buon aspetto estetico, le eccellenti caratteristiche meccaniche e la rapida essiccazione; il primer dispone di una eccellente aderenza sulle preesistenti verniciature, con aggrappaggio diretto su acciaio e ghisa. Hydrocryl 1K è stato sviluppato per offrire ai professionisti del settore Cladding una soluzione specifica a basso impatto ambientale per il ripristino degli edifici realizzati in Cladding in applicazione airmix o airless.
