“W
ork and life” is the theme developed for the fifth edition of Made in Steel, the conference and exhibition of the steel industry that will be held in Milan at the exhibition halls of fieramilanocity, on 3 - 5 April 2013. The decision taken by the Steering Committee of Made in Steel is rooted in the significance of iron and steel work, in the constant and close presence of steel in people’s everyday lives. Thanks to the particular care with which the main user sectors will be analyzed – building, transportation and power & utilities – the importance of this material and its applications will be highlighted. In this direction, Made in Steel will organize a full agenda of conferences that will tackle the relevant supply chains of the user sectors in their complexity, describing their current status and prospects. In addition, looking towards the future, Made in Steel will analyze the new geography of steel. In particular, the reverberations of access to the world of industrialized labour, the approach to new standards of life for millions of people in developing countries and how this development is internationally changing dynamics and trends in the steel industry will be further analyzed. ork and Life” rappresenta il filo conduttore su cui si articolerà la quinta edizione di Made in Steel, l’evento conference & exhibition della filiera dell’acciaio che si terrà a Milano presso i padiglioni espositivi di fieramilanocity, dal 3 al 5 aprile 2013. Una scelta, quella effettuata dal Comitato di Indirizzo di Made in Steel, che trova le proprie radici nell’importanza dell’opera siderurgica, nella presenza costante e vicina dell’acciaio nella vita quotidiana di delle persone. Grazie alla particolare attenzione con cui verranno analizzati i principali settori utilizzatori – edilizia, trasporti, industria power & utilities – verrà evidenziata l’importanza di questo materiale e le sue varie applicazioni. In questa direzione, Made in Steel organizzerà un ricco programma di convegni che affronteranno nella propria complessità le rispettive filiere dei settori utilizzatori, descrivendone attualità e prospettive. Inoltre, con lo sguardo rivolto al futuro, Made in Steel analizzerà la nuova geografia dell’acciaio. In particolare saranno approfondite le ricadute dell’accesso al mondo del lavoro industrializzato e a nuovi standard di vita di milioni di persone nei Paesi in via di sviluppo, e di come questo fenomeno stia modificando le dinamiche e le tendenze del comparto siderurgico a livello internazionale.
