SM (The University of Southern Mississippi) announced their 43rd Annual International Waterborne, High‐solids and Powder Coatings Symposium Program line‐up. The symposium will be held in the Sheraton New Orleans, 500 Canal Street, New Orleans. The week starts with short courses, January 31 ‐ February 2, followed by the Technology Showcase Exhibits, February 2‐4, and the main technical symposium February 3 ‐ 5, 2016. USM has a wonderful conference lined up with technical sessions including Waterborne, Nanotube, Bio‐based, Academia, Corrosion, Additives, and a General session for all other talks. The 2016 Plenary speaker is Kurt Olson, Fellow, Coatings Research and Development from PPG Industries. Kurt will be speaking on Wednesday morning at 8:00 am. Following will be the keynote speaker, John Gilbert, Sr. Vice President, Research and Development, BEHR Process Corporation. Rounding out the opening session will be an expert advisory panel sponsored by Coatings World. The annual Sidney Lauren Memorial Lecture will be given by Kristen Blankenship, AGC Chemicals America’s and winner of the Siltech Best Paper Award for Innovation at the 2015 Waterborne Symposium. The student’s day will be on Thursday, February 4, 2016, featuring a student poster session/competition, resume books, informal interviews, and a student reception. This is a great time to come and meet the students and see the work that is being done here at the School of Polymers and High Performance Materials at USM. USM will be holding 2 short courses, January 31 ‐ February 2 (prior to the technical symposium). There is a beginning short course in the Fundamentals of Coatings (optional 1 day add on for Sunday, January 31, 2016) and the Science of Formulating, and also the more advanced short course in Reformulating to Waterborne Coatings. SM (University of Southern Mississippi) ha annunciato il programma del 43esimo simposio internazionale annuale sui rivestimenti in polvere, a base acqua e ad alto solido. Il simposio si terrà presso lo Sheraton New Orleans (500 Canal Street), a New Orleans. La settimana inizia con i corsi brevi (31 gennaio – 2 febbraio 2016) seguiti dalla Vetrina della Tecnologia (2-4 febbraio 2016) e dal simposio tecnico principale (3-5 febbraio 2016). USM ha preparato un programma di conferenze di prim’ordine, con sessioni tecniche quali “Base Acqua”, “Nanotubi”, “Base Biologica”, “Accademia”, “Corrosione”, “Additivi” e una sessione generale per tutti gli altri interventi. Lo speaker della sessione plenaria del 2016 sarà Kurt Olson, Fellow, Coatings Research and Development di PPG Industries. Olson interverrà mercoledì mattina alle ore 8. Il relatore successivo sarà John Gilbert, Sr. Vice President, Research and Development, BEHR Process Corporation. Completeranno la sessione di apertura gli esperti del gruppo consultivo di USM sponsorizzato da Coatings World.
