CIF held the event “Il Cluster Tecnologico Nazionale: La Fabbrica Intelligente” (i.e. National Technology Cluster: The Smart Factory) on September 30. This was one of the steps taken by the association to highlight the value of networks compared with the individualism that is often promulgated by companies. Any company, when assessing its business, must define its priorities, the strategies to differentiate from the competition and the policies to implement them; however, in our complex world, the old saying “If you want a thing done well, do it yourself” cannot still be seen as a key to success. UCIF prefers to stress that “Union is strength”, simply because some of our industry’s goals can only be achieved if there is a common direction that does not represent the will of one company. Being present in political environments, influencing technical discussions on the industry standards, asserting the importance of surface treatments compared to the upstream and downstream industrial processes: These are just a few examples proving that the “System” is essential and useful to increase the value of our sector and its activities. Also to emphasise this concept and send a strong signal, UCIF organised the event of September 30 in cooperation with another member of the ANIMA Federation: AVR, the Italian association of valve and fittings manufacturers. The collaboration between these two adjacent sectors proves the importance of working to create a network – which was also the focus of the conference, dedicated to clusters and their benefits as a meeting point for companies. No coincidence that the speaker of the event was Papa, a professor from the LIUC University: indeed, the corporate and academic worlds should be an example of debate. In this sense, the meeting achieved its mail goal. Moreover, the speaker provided useful information on how to support and use the “System” to increase the value of a business, create new relationships and pursue a continuous and constant growth based on different sources. The “System”, be it an association, a cluster or something different, is therefore an opportunity: It is up to a company to understand and leverage its value. ‹

l 30 settembre scorso UCIF ha organizzato un evento dal titolo: Il Cluster Tecnologico Nazionale “La Fabbrica Intelligente”. L’evento si incastra in uno dei vari passi compiuti dall’associazione nazionale per rafforzare la consapevolezza del valore del sistema rispetto all’individualismo che spesso viene promulgato dalle aziende. È indubbio che ciascuna azienda, osservando il proprio business, debba avere ben chiare le proprie priorità, le linee strategiche attraverso le quali differenziarsi rispetto alla concorrenza e le politiche aziendali per attuarle. Ma in un mondo complesso e stratificato come quello odierno, è inimmaginabile pensare che il vecchio detto “chi fa da sé fa per tre” sia un segreto di successo. Noi di UCIF preferiamo rispondere che “l’unione fa la forza” per il semplice motivo che alcuni traguardi del settore sono raggiungibili solo se esiste una direzione comune del comparto e non se rappresenta il volere di un’unica azienda. Farsi sentire sui tavoli politici, essere un influenzatore nei gruppi tecnici di discussione delle norme di settore, riuscire a far valere l’importanza del trattamento delle superfici (nel nostro caso) rispetto agli altri processi industriali, a monte e a valle della meccanica, sono alcuni dei numerosissimi esempi in cui il “sistema” è imprescindibile e strumentale per valorizzare il settore e le singole attività. Anche per sottolineare l’importanza di questo concetto e per inviare un segnale di rappresentanza forte, UCIF ha organizzato l’evento del 30 settembre scorso congiuntamente con un altro settore industriale rappresentato dalla Federazione ANIMA, ovvero l’Associazione AVR, Associazione Italiana Costruttori Valvole e Rubinetteria. Settori limitrofi che sottolineano l’importanza di collaborare per “fare network”, così come l’oggetto dell’incontro dedicato al cluster e ai benefici che l’essere in un cluster, visto come tavolo di confronto tra le aziende, può offrire. Non a caso il relatore dell’evento è stato un docente universitario, il Prof. Papa dell’Università Carlo Cattaneo - LIUC, affinché il mondo aziendale e quello accademico siano espressione di confronto. Già a partire da questo risultato, l’evento ha raggiunto l’obiettivo sperato. Inoltre, il relatore ha fornito utilissime informazioni su come alimentare e impiegare il sistema al fine di accrescere il proprio valore, identificare nuove relazioni e perseguire un aggiornamento continuo e costante sulla base di fonti diverse da quelle di solito usate. Il sistema, che sia un’associazione, un cluster o altro, si tramuta quindi in un volano di opportunità. Resta alla caparbietà dell’azienda capirne e sfruttarne il valore. ‹
