Breighlynn Rutherford strains to pull the weighted sled at the Gale Ritter Pedal Pull Aug. 2 at the Allen County Fair, sponsored by Allen County Farm Bureau.

Youngsters flex their pulling muscles Sixty-three youngsters ages 4-12 braved the stifling heat to put their pedal power to the test at the Gale Ritter Pedal Pull sponsored by Allen County Farm Bureau Association at the Allen County Fair.

All participants received a cold milk provided by Strickler Dairy, Midwest Dairy Farmers & Dairy Farmers of America when they completed their pull.

Those in the top three placings received awards presented by Ritter.

Meiwes Family chaired this event with Levi emceeing, Paul serving as the sanctioning official and Becky assisting the guys with setup, registration and coordination as they carried on the tradition long-held by Becky’s parents, Gale Ritter and wife Mary Ann.
