Welcome! The Caribbean with its blue sea, white sand beaches and wealth of sunshine, has a huge appeal - especially for those of us living in duller, colder climates. Hence the timing of our special supplement on Barbados this issue which includes fabulous resorts, properties to rent and buy plus a focus on island interiors. After all the buzz of compiling these features, I’m looking forward to revisiting Barbados myself in a few weeks to experience the delights of Royal Westmoreland and the Platinum Coast. A totally different destination but one that’s proving immensely popular with overseas buyers is London. We’ve consulted a number of experts on the subject to discover which nationalities are heading this foreign influx and why. We also explore the concept of ‘cluster buying’ properties within new London developments. When considering a location in which to invest in property, either for your own use, rental purposes or both, the lifestyle it offers is hugely important. In addition to the tropical island and city suggestions already mentioned, we also take a closer look at Cannes on the Cote d’Azur. Not only does it have stunning properties and heady temperatures for most of the year, Cannes provides excellent restaurants, bars, marina facilities and, of course, its famous Film Festival which draws the world’s celebrities each summer.
