If so, we have the reading challenge for you! For the first time, we ’ re trying out a yearlong reading challenge for adults and teens. We will have 50 different challenge prompts for you to complete. Once you read a book that qualifies in any category, you can fill out an online or paper form to submit your title and book review. Book reviews will be made available on our website for other readers to browse for ideal for new reads!
Whether you read over 50 books a year or less than 10, you can enjoy participating in this challenge. There will be several different prize drawings throughout the year, as well as an end-of-year reading party for everyone who participated in the reading challenge in 2026. Audiobooks and e-books count, too, so get your Libby App ready!
We need your help to make this challenge a success. If you have a challenge prompt idea, please contact Emma via phone at 252-753-3355 or email at erepp@farmvillenc.gov. Wednesdays at 10:00 am
Kids can waddle, toddle, and wiggle during storytime for ages 0-3. This 30-minute program includes a read-together book, music and movement with shaker eggs and scarves, and concludes with the bubble dance. Each family is provided a copy of the featured Read Together book to share during the program.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a program designed to introduce literacy skills to children before they start kindergarten. The program provides a way to strengthen bonds, increases attention spans, develops speaking/speech patterns, and allows for a safe way to explore the world.
It’s never too early or too late to start reading to your to your child. Ask at the first floor desk to register your child.

Come to the gazebo on the Town Commons to hear a fun Christmas Story, sing some carols and welcome Santa Claus.

Stop by the Library during the Taste of Farmville and either make a wonderful dough ornament for your tree or take a kit to make later.

Come see the Library staff, floats and more as Farmville celebrates the holiday with their traditional Christmas parade Down Main Street.
11:30am - 1pm Gift-making Workshop

The Library will host a gift-making workshop after the parade for ages 3-13. Participants can make gifts for family and friends: melted crayon jewelry, magnets, and shrinky dink bookmarks.

After a slight delay, our digitization center is opening! Come and see demonstrations of our equipment to convert VHS tapes to DVD, as well as audio cassettes to digital files or CD, and to scan photos, documents, recipes, and more. During the program, participants can register for one-on-one training appointments. There is no registration required.

Join Maile Wilder of Move Wildly Yoga for an hour-long mat yoga session in the Library Program Room on the first Saturday of every month! This class is great for all skill levels, but is geared towards adults. If you don’t have a mat, we have 6 yoga mats for participants to borrow. Our other winter yoga dates are: 1/3 at 12pm and 2/7 at 9:30am

We're reading "Skipping Christmas" by John Grisham for December's Book Club! This is the book that inspired the movie “Christmas with the Kranks”. Copies of the book are now available at the second floor circulation desk and on the Libby app.
