Intec’s new remote support brings quick assistance when you need it industry leading TeamViewer© remote support capability which places technical support easily within all customers’ reach. fig 1

Imagine having an Intec engineer instantly appear right next to you when you need help on an install or with a client.

Thanks to Intec’s advanced new remote support system rolling out from Aug 1st, that’s exactly what you get. As technology gets more reliable, the more frequent support questions tend to be application related with questions like, “How can I help my customer do this?”, or “Why can’t I do this”. A friendly point in the right direction can save you hours on site or help you solve your customers’ issue in a blink of an eye.

To be able to respond to our customers needs, Intec has been updating its IT infrastructure, servers and data connections over the last few months. As part of these updates, Intec is pleased to unveil its new support platform powered by the

It’s fast, easy and secure Getting quick help couldn’t be easier, simply visit our website and click on the REMOTE support icon. This triggers a download of a ‘one time instance’ of Intec’s custom ‘Quick Support’ TeamViewer app. The ‘quick support app’ opens a secure connection from your desktop direct to our technicians, enabling them with your permission to access your system. You are protected by your own unique User ID and Password, which you must advise our technician of over the telephone or by email.

This process takes just a few moments to set up and both parties can remain on the ‘phone’ whilst Intec takes control of your system to guide you through or assist you with any issues.

1) The service is accessed via our website - click the ‘Remote Support’ button (Fig 1) or go direct to: www.intecprinters.com/ remote-support (Fig 2).

2) The TeamViewer app will be automatically downloaded to your PC. Run/Double-click the file to bring up the Remote Access interface.

3) Call Intec Technical Support line: UK: +44 (0) 1202 845960 USA: +1-813-949-7799 and provide our technician with the unique User ID and Password which has been generated and shown on your screen (Fig 3).

4) The Intec technician will then be able to access and take control of your system.

5) Following resolution of the issue and quitting TeamViewer, the app will automatically delete itself from your PC, leaving no resident files.

Should further troubleshooting be required on another occasion, simply repeat the process.

Important Fiery® RIP notice

Install a patch to prevent the upgrade to Windows 10 Thank you for choosing the leading digital front end for your print operations. Please be aware of the following important notice from EFI.

Fiery® digital front ends are specially designed systems combining an operating system with Fiery software and custom electronics. As such, Fiery servers running Windows® 7 or Windows 8.1 will not support the Windows 10 upgrade directly on the server. Please do not install Windows 10 directly on your Fiery server.

If the Fiery server is upgraded to Windows 10, it will not operate and the system will have to be rebuilt from original software disks or backup images.

Microsoft announced that a Windows 10 upgrade can be performed through Windows Updates as of 29th July.

A ‘Get Windows 10’ notification may pop up on your Fiery server asking you to upgrade to Windows 10. Please dismiss the notification.

If you see this on your monitor - DO NOT GET WINDOWS 10 - download our patch to prevent its install

EFI has created a Fiery patch, based on a solution from Microsoft, that disables the pop-up and prevents the Fiery server from being upgraded to Windows 10.

Note 1: EFI strongly recommends that you perform a full backup of the system image on a regular basis. In the event of an accidental Windows 10 update, the backup image can be used to

restore the Fiery server so it will operate normally.

Note 2: This announcement does not apply to Fiery XF and Fiery proServer for wide format printers. However, we recommend not attempting an upgrade to Windows 10 for these products without reading a separate communication that will be issued within the next few weeks.

The well-known contemporary Cornish art galleries, ‘Whitewater’, felt the Intec ColorSplash CS4100, was perfect for their fine art needs.

Beating-off stiff competition, the Intec ColorSplash won final selection, owing largely to it’s superb heavy media handling capabilities.

Husband-and-wife team, Nick and Suki Wapshott, are not just gallery proprietors, but also, two of the many producers of work on display.

Nick, who is also surf photographer and Suki, a multi-disciplined fine artist, are both keen to supplement their fine art printing arsenal, with the highperformance of the Intec ColorSplash heavy media digital printer.

The Gallery also prints and frames work for other local artists and can now offer a complete one-stop service for these customers – being able to also produce their business and greetings cards as well. Another added-value revenue stream.
