Inspired Memory Care (IMC) is a New York City-based training and consulting firm founded in 2016 on the belief that individuals living with cognitive change and their care-partners are valued and valuable members of society.
As such, they should have access to life-enriching, esteembuilding experiences, pursuing their passions each day. Stigma (and staffing) often limit the vision of what is possible for people living with cognitive change due to Alzheimer's disease and related dementia.
IMC provides programming, training and program development consultation to support care teams with bridging the gap gracefully and efficiently to create quality of life for anyone touched by cognitive change, and the members of their care teams.
To introduce programs that work! We have spent years training teams on engagement best practices. We have some tried and true signature programs to get us started.
To empower. We work within an empowerment framework to develop an offering that reflects the strengths and interests of the whole community (residents, team members, and visitors alike!)
To validate Validating the good work your team does, the contributions your residents make, and the positive emotions we all enjoy during programs is what we do best!
To celebrate Recognition goes a long way toward creating rituals Our goal is to provide positive feedback whenever possible to keep the fun and connection continuing!
Inspired Memory Care offers evidence-based programs, clubs and committees to maximize stimulation, socialization, and fun using our clients' available strengths and resources.
Join us as we travel around the world, explore famous sculptures, learn the origins of golf, and more with downloadable learning and discussion programs. Each program is designed to promote successful engagement using evidence-based methods to support interest and active participation
The Essence Spa experience is designed to both soothe and energize residents through programs that carefully engage the senses, minimizing walking about (wandering), anxiety, and boredom. The Essence Spa can be established in any quiet area, providing a haven of wellness, warmth, and gentle activity for participants benefitting from quiet interaction.
Not your average music & movement program! This program utilizes focus groups to develop its playlist, choreography and prop utilization. Group members collaborate to create a fitness experience that's fun and engaging for all.
Finding common interests across community members and adapting them for cognitive and physical strengths is what we're all about! Have residents and team members with a strong interest in the culinary arts? Are current events waiting to be explored? We support team members to develop participant roles, adapt materials, and let magic happen in the form of truly resident-driven clubs and committees.
