Betty Neuman Award – Eat, Sleep, Console

The Betty Neuman Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Award is an opportunity to showcase a Quality Improvement that has brought about a change in a unit or within the Inspira Medical Center at Vineland organization. This year marks the 13th Annual Betty Neuman Evidence Based Practice Awards at Inspira. The Betty Neuman EBP Award is presented to the highest-scoring EBP presentation. This year’s winner is Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC).

ESC is a family-centered approach for treating substance-exposed newborns. Instead of treating these babies with medications, ESC simply focuses on the comfort and care of these infants- feeding them when they’re hungry, consoling them when they are irritable and letting them sleep when they’re tired.

This allows the infant to stay with their family and only resorts to medications as needed.

Congratulations to everyone involved for their tremendous commitment to elevating the care and experience of our patients and their families.
