Fara’seducationaljourneyhasplayedanintegralrolein shapinghercareerandapproachtoleadership.Shebegan hernursingeducationatAdelphiUniversity,whereshe earnedaBachelorofScienceinNursing(BSN).This degreeprovidedherwithastrongfoundationinclinical nursingpracticeandpatientcare.Shethencontinuedher educationatLongIslandUniversity,earningaMasterof ScienceinNursing(MSN).Duringthistime,shehonedher skillsinadvancednursingpractice,positioningherselffora leadershiproleinhealthcare.
Herthirstforknowledgedidn’tstopwithherMSN.Fara wentontopursueaPhD,focusingontheeffectsofstigma inaddictionandrecovery,atopicthatdeeplyresonatedwith herworkinaddictionmedicine.However,theCOVID-19 pandemicledhertoreassessherpriorities.“Irealizedmy immediateimpactwasneededintheclinicalfield,”she explains.AsanAddictionNursePractitioneratthetime, shewasmanagingahighcaseloadanddecidedtowithdraw fromthePhDprogramtofocusontheurgentneedsofher patients.
