Y U K I H AYA S H I Yuki Hayashi is a Toronto-raised lifestyle journalist who has written for Flare and FASHION, The Globe and Mail and BBC.com, as well as for Tourism Toronto and Air Canada. Hayashi, formerly an editor at Style at Home, is happiest when one or more of her singular interests — design, art and travel — align with her work, as they did in her INSIGHT profile of up-and-coming Toronto photographer Yasin Osman (page 44).
S H AW N A C O H E N For more than two decades, freelance writer Shawna Cohen has been covering style, home décor and pop culture for various publications such as FASHION, Azure and The Hollywood Reporter. Her past editorial accomplishments include helping launch the influential style magazine Fashion Quarterly, alongside Jeanne Beker, and was editor-in-chief of Mommyish.com, recognized as one of Time magazine’s 50 best websites. For INSIGHT, Cohen speaks with über-designer Dee Dee Eustace (page 28) on her quest for personal and professional discovery and change.
JEREMY FREED Jeremy Freed is a Toronto-based freelance writer whose work appears regularly in The Globe and Mail, Sharp, Canadian House & Home and re:Porter. In between assignments covering menswear, interior design and culture, Freed can be found seeking out great sandwiches in farflung destinations — and talking to cats in the ‘hood.
