Think easy, accessible and practical when you are making your top picks this season. To help those in winter fashion strife, I have compiled an exclusive list of trends fit for any wardrobe. Here are four stars for winter outfit inspiration, from statement coats to knee high boots and turtleneck sweaters.

Winter White Sweater White sweaters are all the rage this season because of its versatility and feminine look.

Suitable for almost any ensemble, pair your white sweater with skinny blue jeans and boots or sneakers. Up-style the look with a multi coloured clutch or statement watch for a pop of colour.

Knee High Boots I can’t say it enough- I am head over heels for knee high boots! This gem will be your staple accessory this winter. Opt for a black comfy-chic flat that is stylish and most importantly comfortable for everyday use. Forget a high heel because flat knee high boots can edge up an outfit of a simple top and jeans or help add definition to a pencil-skirt ensemble for the office. A guarantee go-to all season.

Knee Length Coat The knee length coat is the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. Deemed the LBD of the season, a knee length coat adds a chic and classic finish to even the simplest of outfits. The most versatile colours to opt for are black or brown for everyday wear. If you are looking for a more statement coat, I recommend going for bright red or blue.

For many stylists and designers winter is a season where fashion takes a more practical seat; we know the looks for winter need to be very wearable pieces.

The good news this season is that fashion has ripped up the denim rulebook, incorporating fresh and lavish new details to classic denim looks. The blues are on winning form in the midst of an incredibly fun and adventurous fashion moment, when anything from baggy to white-wash, or high-rise —goes. For every winter mood there is a jean and a style. Here are a few denim tips to keep you fashionably warm this winter.

Moto Jeans Slowly making its way into the mainstream silhouette is this sassy and sporty number that will have you begging for more. Moto jeans are like a combination of cross-stich and biker chic. The idea is a take on two toned hues and ribbed knit patches. This is a slick pair of jeans with an edgy twist. The Moto jean look is on the cutting edge of fashion and for those of you wanting to add more daring bits of denim to your wardrobe.

Coated Jeans Coated jeans give you a leather look without the commitment and overheating! This one is for those of you looking to stay ahead of the denim fashion trends.

Stone Wash Denim This 80’s classic is back and in full swing. Popularised by the punk rock crowd from way back when, the stone wash jean marks the return of American Western clothing on major fashion runways. This particular look sets a daring tone to your ensemble and is best paired with a neutral coloured top to soften the look.

White Denim White is slowly seeping into the fashion pages with some fashion gurus deeming it “the new black”. For those of you who want to switch in your white shirts for a more casual chic look, this is the trend for you. The best look for white denim is slightly distressed baggy boyfriend jeans. Rachel finds out Jess’s real name is Megan and she thinks she should reveal what she has seen. Megan, it turns out, is not all she appears to be either, and Paula Hawkins slowly builds the tension in the novel by alternating between the stories of Rachel, Megan and Anna, the new wife. None of these women is particularly likeable and that makes the story all the more real. It’s an absolute page turner and should keep you guessing till the end.”

Home affordability This is critical to someone purchasing their first home, but once they have purchased this is the last time they ever have a genuine interest in home affordability. With changes to the Welcome Home Loan scheme on 1 April 2015 we will see the potential borrowing power of first home buyers increasing to $450,000 (up from $400,000 currently). I believe that we will see a spike in sales for properties under $450,000 in and around Christchurch. The amazing part is with interest rates being so low the cost of renting is almost the same as the cost of owing your own home.

Is there a listing shortage?

Supply and demand will always be a defining factor to market values and the number one reason why people won’t list their property is normally because they have nowhere to go. Listing numbers in the first quarter of 2015 have been strong, with more properties coming onto the market which has assisted in easing the minds of

home owners wanting to sell and also purchase in the same market.

Are selling prices still climbing?

Selling prices are on the rise still in Christchurch but the pace of price increases has slowed somewhat. The median price Christchurch wide increased by 1.1% to $425,000 as at Feb 2015.

Volume of sales rose 72% from January 2015 to February 2015 with average days on the market continuing to fall in February 2015 down to 36 days on the market.

With the added listings and properties coming to the market we are seeing a very stable property market starting to be created.
