SUPPORTING ASSOCIATION - AP3I-ISEA
The Indonesian Smelter and Refining Enterprises Association (AP3I) which was established and inaugurated by the Minister of Industry on 20 May 2015 as a forum for communication and consultation between members, between members and the government on matters related to the processing and refining industry mining results about the problem and trying to find a solution
AP3I members currently consist of mineral processing companies such as copper, nickel, iron ore, tin, silica, zircon, and manganese as well as supporting industrial companies The purpose of the establishment of AP3I is to foster, develop the capabilities, activities, and interests of Indonesian smelter companies to realize national interests that are based on growth and equity so that the foundation of the national economy and industry can stand stronger, be highly competitive, and be able to host in their own country according to the mandate in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution
One of the things that AP3I has done is related to nickel slag, which was previously categorized as B3 waste. AP3I struggled for more than two years to remove nickel slag from the B3 waste category until the government responded with the issuance of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Ministerial Regulation no 10 of 2020 and the Job Creation Act Law no 3 of 2021 which issued nickel slag from the category of B3 waste (attached to the letter to the National Resilience Council led by RI-1) In addition, AP3I also encourages the government to lower gas prices in the range of USD 6 00/MMBTU (attached to the letter to the Minister of Industry).
What AP3I is working on is that the Mineral Smelting and Refining industries can be given the same incentives as the Upstream industry and the industry in the SEZ Zone Because logically it is an economic supply chain link

Head of Sustainability
Nickel Industries Limited (NIC) is an ASX-listed company which owns a portfolio of mining and low-cost downstream nickel processing assets in Indonesia The Company has a long history in Indonesia, with controlling interests in the worldclass Hengjaya Mine, as well as four rotary kiln
electric furnace (RKEF) projects which produce nickel pig iron (NPI) for the stainless-steel industry. Having established itself as a globally significant producer of NPI, the Company is now
rapidly transitioning its production to focus on the
electric vehicle battery supply chain – recently, the Company has acquired a 10% interest in the
Huayue Nickel Cobalt (HNC) HPAL project, adding mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) to its product portfolio. Nickel Industries is now embarking on its next transformative step, investing in Excelsior
Nickel Cobalt (ENC), a next-generation HPAL project capable of producing MHP, nickel sulphate and nickel cathode ENC is expected to
produce approximately 72,000 tonnes of nickel metal per annum, diversifying the Company’s production and reducing the Company’s carbon emissions profile – reflecting the strong commitment to sustainable operations
A Global Leader in Low Cost Nickel Production
Whilst we own a world class Nickel Laterite mine... This is not a mining story.
It's a story about the production of the lowest capital intensive and some of the most profitable nickel units in the global market.
