Perth celebrates Holi with traditional songs, dance & festivities

The festival of colours, Holi, was recently celebrated with great enthusiasm in Perth, as the Consulate of India, in collaboration with Hindi Samaj WA and Uttar Pradesh Awadh Manch WA (UPAM), hosted the Hullad 2025 celebrations. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh, bringing together the community for a joyful and immersive experience.

The festivities featured traditional Holi songs, folk music (lok sangeet), poetry (kavita), and dance (nritya), capturing the essence of Holi as it is celebrated in India’s heartland. The event highlighted the importance of preserving cultural traditions while fostering multicultural unity in Australia.

With colours, music, and dance filling the air, the celebration provided a platform for the Indian diaspora to reconnect with their roots and share the spirit of Holi with the wider Australian community.
