When I think of being home for the holidays, there are countless traditions that come immediately to mind. The same is true when I think about the club at the holidays countless traditions come time to mind. It all starts with a Thanksgiving feast with family and friends and that leads right into December where we kick off the holidays with a Winter Wonderland - a cart-shuttled event featuring festive food and drinks around the property. That spirals us towards our Brunch with Santa Claus where children have a chance to put in their last minute requests for Christmas, followed by a Christmas Dinner featuring a night of caroling led by members Ken Sparks and Carolyn Graham. To close out the holiday, we ring in the New Year with a formal celebration of the strike of midnight (yes, midnight!!) where we make a pledge to have just as much fun, if not more, in the new year. It feels like home - our club home.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family and on behalf of the entire staff, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and safe and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all This is a tremendous time of year where everyone’s lives are busy with family, shopping, parties, and fellowship. I hope each of you may enjoy all the festivities and happiness this season brings. 2022 was a fantastic year at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club. It is hard to believe that 2022 is almost complete, but we relish in the new opportunities next year brings. Be on the lookout for more information on 2023 soon.

Wedge bounce is the angle created between the leading edge and the lowest point of the sole or trailing edge. This is the area of the club that hits through the ground as it contacts the ball. The greater the wedge bounce degree, the higher the leading edge is off the surface at address. Having the proper wedge bounce and grind option promotes optimal contact, control, and ball spin In fact, Roger Cleveland says that “Bounce is your friend,” because it provides forgiveness on all wedge shots, allowing you to still strike the ball properly even if you make mistakes.
Low bounce wedges are typically between 4° 6°, ideal for firm turf conditions and bunkers with harder or coarse sand. Low bounce wedges are designed for clean ball contact, giving you the precision you need in your short game. For instance, low bounce lob wedges can be used to hit high flop shots off tight lies near the green. Low bounce wedges are also useful to players with a sweeper swing style, with shallower attack angles and minimal divots
Mid bounce wedges range between about 7°-10°, and are most played on firm to normal turf. Players tend to choose mid bounce wedges to create shots around the green, as they help achieve exact distance and trajectory control.
This wedge bounce type is the most versatile for more players, and can apply to a wide range of course conditions. While mid bounce wedges are suited for almost all swing types, they most favor a neutral swing style with a moderate attack angle
High bounce wedges are those with more than 10° of bounce, designed for softer turf, fluffy lies, and bunkers with soft sand
High bounce sand wedges are ideal for preventing the leading edge of the club from dragging too much in the sand, and high bounce lob wedges are beneficial to those who take deep divots with a digger swing style and steep attack angle.
High bounce golf wedges help generate a lot of spin, giving players more control over their short game
See you on the course!

Fall 2022 has been great with exceptional weather conditions and on time rain events. Everything has come together this fall to include aerification, topdressing and landscaping.
The crew is currently focused on preparing the course for daily play, as the weather continues to be extremely conducive for golf. November, like October, began with warm temperatures and, although the end of October marked the end of the golf season, great golfing doesn't live within date boundaries. Perhaps think about making your new year's resolution to get out on the golf course either for the first time or more often. We will be waiting for you.
We have officially said farewell to all of our seasonal staff but, the full time crew members are eager to jump in and carry on as we head into winter and begin working on winter projects
You may notice the crew continuing with the seemingly endless leaf mulching/removal and cleanup, tree trimming and removal of dead trees. We will be holding our annual training sessions to focus on course and grounds safety, and equipment operation, as well as pressure washing campus facility buildings as needed. The survey results are in and we will be using feedback as a guide as we plan for the 2023 season both in best practices and operating and capital budgets/strategic planning. Around the shop, we will be working on necessary equipment repairs and annual maintenance and making organizational improvements to the turf center. On the course, we will be working on drainage, bunker maintenance, weed control, and many other small projects that we are able to accomplish, as weather permits.
The Course and Grounds crew wishes everyone very happy and safe holiday and would like to take this time to give a heartfelt thank you to the ICYCC membership for your support this past season
