Best of Indian regional home cooked fare at popular annual food mela

JANUARY 17 and it was once again time to tickle the taste buds with some lip-smacking Indian regional food. The cuisines at the annual All India Food Mela organised by India Club ranged from Maharashtra (Bajirao Peshwai), Gujarati (Khiara’s Kitchen), Gujarati (Mansi’s Khaana), Punjabi/Rajasthani (Delhi Se Jaipur), Kutchi Food (Panjo Kutch), Gujarati (Swaad Foodshala), Parsi (Bawarchi Bawa’s Parsi Cuisine), Maharastrian (Amchi Mumbai), Parsi (Khao Pyio Jiyo Parsis), Fusion Desi Cusine (Desi Tadka), Indian Desi Food (Desi Khaana Pardes Main), Karnataka (Foodupi) and Parsi (Fusion Food Parsi). The mela at the 14 stalls displayed a variety of delicacies and gave an insight into the rich variety of Indian homemade food that was sold fresh to members and visitors that thronged the stalls.

Prizes for the best three participants of the fancy dress competition were given out to Siya Damani (First Place), Shubh Vaja (Second Place), Dev Damani and Kush Vaja (Third Place). Kids were encouraged to go on stage and perform Bollywood dances. Special attraction for the kids included face painters, stilt walkers and bouncing castle DJ Bosco played a variety of Indian regional music besides desi / bollywood music.
Foodupi scooped the first prize at the popular Food Mela.
