What inspired you to write DIAMONDS ARE FINE? I was dating a man who'd fathered 3 children, by 3 different women. He was always trying to do the most possible to be a great dad for his children, it just seemed that he was constantly arguing with his coparents, or he was being dragged back and forth to child support court for children that were living with him, and attending school from his address. Anyway, I just got fed up with all the illogical decision making that was centric to the insecurities of the parents that were truly harming the babies in that house, and I decided to write about it.
