Help Needed

Make no mistake, Cheryl is not daunted by her new role at Sorrento. Judging by her previous strike rate, when things needed to be done, she is again looking forward to playing a significant role as a great asset to our Club.

Help Needed!

At a recent company director’s course, the presenter informed participants that the most vulnerable business organisations operating in Australia are the not for profits – including community clubs like Sorrento. Why? Because not for profit organisations are subject to the same level of compliance scrutiny as large corporations but don’t have the resources to employ the necessary skilled labour, instead relying on volunteers.

One of the major components of a governance framework is the organisation’s policies and procedures. Sorrento currently has almost thirty major policies.

We are seeking the services of a volunteer or volunteers to help maintain these policies and on occasion, to develop new policies as the need arises.

To undertake the role, you need to have research and analytical skills and reasonable written skills. The role is not onerous as far as time goes because the policies have already been developed and mostly require review and where necessary updating.

Naturally you will work closely with the Office Manager and the Governing Council.Sound like you? If so, then please contact the President or a member of the GC to discuss further.
