Clive to become a regular member of Sorrento teams. But this year, Clive was spotted having a roll-up a fair bit earlier than normal.

However, there is a logical explanation. Because travelling to and from England became so difficult the Australian Government decided to give Clive and Jan a five-year visa, meaning that we are guaranteed to have Clive in our ranks for quite some time.

Now aged 82 and having long retired as a butcher, Clive and Jan have sold up back in Somerset and have almost completed building their new abode on a large patch of land their son, Edward, bought in Gnangara. There have not been too many plusses to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic but having the affable Clive around our Club permanently is certainly a good example of one.

Beyond Blue Annual Charity Day

In the middle of October we held this special day. A good crowd of thirty social bowlers played on a warm and sunny day and $230 was raised from players' entry fees and some donations.

Winners were Trisha Smith, Ken Partridge (half asleep as usual), Eric Doust and Kevin McKersey. Runners up were Jennifer Page, Ken Evans, Brian Alcock and Clive Webber
