I would like to compliment Neville Odell and Jim Woodward for the fine job they do for our news magazine. I read it from cover to cover. I was amazed by the accuracy of Jim's reporting on newbie bowlers. He absolutely nailed it and captured all the defining characteristics of the individuals involved. Highly accurate reporting. The “Gripes and Groans” article was most useful setting out questions I have asked myself or heard others complaining about. I also enjoyed the interpretation of Skipper’s comments which were incredibly hilarious along with the many tongue in cheek asides from the Editor all through the publication. I never knew Neville had such a dry sense of humour. When reading about our Life Members I was somewhat awed and surprised that my 2-4-2 bowls partner, Ian Wittber, has such an illustrious background and history in our Club. You never know who you going to be bowling with at Sorrento. Some members are so distinguished and accomplished and yet still unassuming. Again, thank you for such an amazing contribution to our Club. We are indeed blessed – Greg Clements
It's raining and I was pleased to have an hour to fill, which I used to perfection by reading our latest Club magazine. It is so superb (as always). I particularly enjoyed the tribute to our life members. You're amazing Neville. Thank you very much. It's stopped raining so I'm going for my walk – Philip Oldershaw
Many thanks for your continued involvement in the preparation of our quarterly news magazine. So many members look forward to receiving and reading the the latest news and updates of the Sorrento Bowling Club. Actually it is a national and international magazine. I send a copy to my son in Minneapolis and also a copy to a couple of my mates in Sydney. I am sure other members do the same. Again I thank you both for playing the major role in producing the magazine. We all look forward to many more editions. – ABBA
Hi guys, Just want to let you know how perfect our night was on Saturday. We had around 70 people and we chose to play bowls..and yes the weather just held off. The volunteers were so kind and patient with us especially me as I kept running off to meet guests. We spent about an hour and a half bowling and then spent the rest of the night partying in the hall. It was such a fun night. The club and staff were so kind, there were such good vibes all thru the night, so much so that I didn't take one photo!
Rob and I would like to say a huge thanks to Chloe, Rikki and Ian and the bowling volunteers for taking such good care of us. We will spread the word if anyone is looking for a place to host a good night
We are looking forward to learning to bowl properly now that we are members Thanks again everyone –Judith and
