FOUNDATION DONATES $1100 TO MOVEMBER! Thank you to everyone that joined our team and those who donated money. Ideal Foundation matched what contributions were made by Ideal staff. With this we’ve all helped towards Movember’s cause which is to fund and support men with groundbreaking health projects across mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Well done team - what a great result!

BASKETBALL PROVES A HIT Earlier this year Special Olympics North Canterbury (SONC) added basketball to the sports they offer to their members. The club provides sports training and competition opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities and helps them develop physical fitness and life experience.

After a few successful basketball taster sessions, they decided to move forward and source equipment, uniforms, etc. The Ideal Foundation came on board with a generous donation to cover their uniforms & any equipment required.

SUPPORTING KIDSCAN Child poverty is real in New Zealand and even more apparent in the current economic environment post-COVID19. The Ideal Foundation reached out to KidsCan charity with a commitment to donate $10,000. This was used to support Kiwi kids in some of life’s simple essentials like food, shoes, raincoats, and general wellbeing. Your support of Ideal Electrical and the products that support the Ideal Foundation helped make this possible and makes a huge difference to children living in hardship.

THE KING & THE IDEAL FOUNDATION Late last year Ideal Foundation & Signify joined forces to create The King downlight to help support kiwi kids. This initiative will allow us to support Mike King’s I am Hope ambassador program through some of the proceeds of the sale of The King downlight.

In addition, we devised the Golden Ticket campaign which supported 28 schools with new sporting equipment. Hidden in selected The King downlight boxes was a golden ticket, and, when contractors found the ticket, they won a $500 Rebel Sport voucher for a school of their choice.

THE GREEN HUB (FORMERLY ‘GREENING THE RUBBLE’) The Ideal Foundation took the opportunity to support a Christchurch based not-for-profit trust which formed after the 20102011 earthquakes to draw people back into the central city, quite literally by greening rubble.

We helped to fit out Greening Rubble’s mobile workshop, which travels to different locations and works with the local communities to revive and refresh those areas affected by the natural disaster which are still impacted today. It does this by facilitating participation in projects, creating opportunities for skilldevelopment and enabling true community-led design to provide public spaces for connection.

Application forms are available for Ideal staff, customers and New Zealand communities to apply for funding. These will then be reviewed by the Ideal Foundation trustees. So, why not let people know!
