Icro Maremmani was born in Pietrasanta (province of Lucca, Tuscany) on 18th May 1951. He worked as a psychiatrist, and lectures in Addiction Medicine at the University of Pisa, Italy. He is president of a number of scientific societies and has published books and academic papers in Italian and in international journals in the field of psychiatry and in that of addiction medicine. He is married and has two children. Throughout his life he has lived in Pietrasanta, in the Maremmani family home. His passion for photography began when he was 18.
