COVID-19 Update
COVID-19 UPDATES
IBEW Local 103 asks our members to continue following the safety guidelines outlined by the CDC to protect our families and to slow the spread of the virus in our communities. We encourage you to get fully vaccinated and boosted, to get tested regularly, to stay home when you are sick and to take advantage of the medical leave benefits available to you and your family as an IBEW Local 103 member.
Massachusetts Lifts Mask Mandates in Schools
Governor Baker and the Department of Early and Secondary Education (DESE) lifted the statewide mask requirement for K-12 schools on February 28.
City of Boston Vaccination Mandates
Due to recent improvements in Boston's COVID-19 public health data, Mayor Wu on February 18 lifted the citywide proof of vaccine mandate which required patrons and staff of certain indoor spaces to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Visit Boston.gov to learn more.
Booster Shot Eligibility
The FDA has authorized COVID-19 booster shots for vaccinated individuals ages 12 and older. If you received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you are eligible for a booster shot five months after your second vaccination date. If you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you are eligible for a booster shot two months after your vaccination date. The brand of your booster shot does not need to match the brand of your original COVID-19 vaccine, however, only the Pfizer vaccine booster may be given to children ages 12-17. The COVID-19 vaccine and boosters are free, safe and effective at lowering the risk of severe disease, hospitalization and death.
