Local 103 Endorses Maura Healey for MA Governor

IBEW LOCAL 103 ENDORSES MAURA HEALEY FOR MA GOVERNOR

IBEW Local 103 is proud to endorse Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, “the people’s lawyer,” for Governor of Massachusetts. Healey is a proven leader and a strong ally to the working people of the Commonwealth. She stands ready, as always, to fight tough fights – and to win – for our communities. During a recent visit to the Boston JATC, Healey promised IBEW Local 103 union members that she will never forget who she is elected to serve.

“Maura Healey has been a strong advocate for working people for a long time and we are thrilled to be supporting her for governor,” said Lou Antonellis, IBEW Local 103 Business Manager/Financial Secretary. “She shares our core values of economic justice and equality – and she has worked hard to advance those values. We applaud the work she has done to combat wage theft in the construction industry and we know that as governor she will continue to do what is right for working people when corporations try to undermine standards or break the law at the expense of workers. We are energized by her candidacy and look forward to supporting her campaign leading up to the election in the fall.”

As Attorney General, Maura Healey successfully:

◦ Investigated wage theft in the construction industry and recovered nearly $2 million from 115 employers ◦ Held corporations including Exxon, Uber, Lyft and multiple Big Pharma companies accountable for illegal activity negatively impacting workers and the environment ◦ Launched the Community Engagement Division in May 2015, which assisted in passing key labor policies such as the Earned Sick Time law and the

Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights ◦ Shaped state legislation to expand opportunities for women in the workplace, which included Pay Equity and Pregnant Workers Fairness bills
