IAID PROFILE IAID W.L.L. Qatar, is a novel institute that provides quality training for Dance, Music and Arts. A first of its kind in the Middle East, IAID continues to unite diverse cultures from the east and west in timeless forms of dance, music, arts and soft skill courses. The academy is a pioneer in conducting workshops for children in Qatar and has to its credit more than 1,000 students (children & adults) representing over 80 nationalities for its regular courses. IAID is supported with fully equipped dance, music, and art studios spanning over 1,200 sq. m. area at a prime and central location in Doha City. With a commitment to quality training, IAID maintains integrated courses that meet international standards and certifications as it is affiliated with the London College of Music (LCM), University of West London UK, Nalanda Dance Research Centre - Mumbai University (India), British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA), UK and more. The years produced excellence as music and dance students of the academy enjoy a 100% passing results in the series of examinations held in Qatar. Over the years, IAID highlights its talents through Events and has been working closely with the Qatar community being part of prestigious events such as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, International Dance and Theatre Festival in Kuwait (2011), Annual Family Day of the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, World Environment Day Celebrations in Qatar, Ajyal Youth Film Festival to name a few.

In addition to its milestones, IAID has been awarded by the Qatar Development bank as the 7th Top SME in the country besting 800 small and medium enterprises. With 15 years of quality training along with growing opportunities in the field of Performing Arts, IAID acknowledges to share its passion in spreading an atmosphere of talent and creativity by expanding its horizons to an international arena. Music courses Affiliation

IAID music students are provided with proper skills, techniques, and continuity of learning that they need in their respective courses following the London College of Music (LCM), University of West London, UK syllabus.

LCM is the largest specialist music and performing arts institution offering international examinations both in graded and diploma qualifications in music, drama, and communication. LCM examinations are regulated by OFQUAL, and Grades 6-8 generate UCAS points for university entrance.


Classical Ballet courses Affiliation IAID – the leading Performing Arts Academy in Qatar is the first exclusive centre worldwide to be affiliated with the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA), UK, for Classical Ballet course. BTDA has been at the forefront of dance education, never afraid to take on new challenges in its efforts to raise both awareness and standards of dance education. It offers a series of regulated General Graded Examinations in Dance. Students follow a carefully designed programme of study developed by BTDA which makes a significant contribution to education and the performing arts.

BTDA has a carefully structured series of awards and certifications to suit every age and level of students. In addition, General Graded Examinations at Grades 6 – 8 provides Universities and College Admissions Service (UCAS) entry points.


Indian classical dance course affiliation The Indian Classical Dance program is a 7year certificate course designed for students 4 yrs & above. IAID is the only Academy outside India that offers certificate courses from the renowned Institute, Nalanda Dance Research Centre (NDRC) in Mumbai, India. The course tackles the dance styles Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam. Certificates are awarded to its graduates; "Prarambhika" after four years and "Kovida" after seven years.

To date, the course has evolved into a 9-year course with students taking the master class to pursue their learnings further. If a student wants to pursue dance for higher studies, NDRC may give an exemption for the initial years and the student can proceed to the degree programs upon passing the Eligibility exam for the same.

IAID Visual Arts Program


The Visual and Studio Arts program takes this creative evolution to different levels covering the essentials of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.

C oy Beginners

Intermediate

This is a basic foundation course that will introduce students to the elements of Art. Students will learn proper handling and control of drawing, colouring and painting mediums. They will create two-dimensional works exploring wet and dry mediums. Integration of cultures, international celebrations, and current events comprise the holistic training of the course.

This course will expose students to the elements of Art and principles of design. They will create works from observations using a variety of techniques and materials. Their artistic expressions will be influenced by artists from different art periods and movements. The course will help improve the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of the students.

Advanced This course focuses on sharpening the visual organizational skills of its students utilizing the principles of design. The Students will execute works using dry and wet mediums as they learn advanced techniques in drawing and painting. They will tackle a variety of subject matters and genres through observational drawings.

Evaluation and Grading Policy Progress Reports A. Per Session A progress report form will be filled up by the instructor as part of the art kit that will keep track of the performance and attitude of the student in the class on a per session basis. The parents / guardians are encouraged to write feedbacks and sign the form on a timely manner. B. Upon Completion A progress report with rubrics and a more comprehensive narrative comments will be awarded to the student upon the completion of the course. Indicated in the form is the student’s current art level and if he / she will retain the level or will be promoted otherwise. b.1. Rubrics An assessment tool will be used to describe and score observable qualitative differences in performances of the students. In assessment methods such as projects and portfolios, where the constructed response given by students cannot be evaluated with complete objectivity, rubrics are considered an effective approach for achieving reliable (consistent) and valid (accurate) professional judgment of students’ performance.

b.2. Narrative comments A narrative comment will be written for each student together with their Rubrics score as part of the assessment. This will provide a more specific and constructive assessment of the student’s performance.


Our Qualified arts instructors Ms. Janine June Arbolario Janine Arbolario holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (Major in Painting) from the University of the Philippines. She has been an art educator for nearly 20 years in International Schools in the Philippines, China and Bahrain. Ms. Janine is also a trained and certified Visual Arts Teacher, Visual Arts Extended Essay Adviser, Theory of Knowledge Teacher and Coordinator for Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) under the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). Moreover, she has received trainings in Art Therapy, Art Advocacies, and leadership development in UK, Italy, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Mr. Michael Fajardo Michael Fajardo is a Bachelors of Fine Arts (Major in Painting) graduate from the University of the Philippines. He is an experienced Art instructor since 2007 teaching at international schools in the Philippines. His artistic virtuosity is evident both in twodimensional (drawing, painting and printmaking) and three-dimensional (plaster casting, clay modelling, wire sculpture, paper mache and assemblage) works. He is also an experienced shadow play puppeteer. He has been a facilitator in various local and international art conferences and festivals, and is a member of the National Art Educators Association.
