Architecture project 11 - public project 6: Culture center at Ho Chi Minh City

The joyful center - ho chi minh city cultural center is an important place in preserving and promoting cultural and artistic values. Located in the city center, this place regularly organizes art performances, exhibitions, seminars and special cultural events. This is a place for the local residents and the public to exchange and learn, contribute to improve the spiritual life of the people. With modern architecture but still imbued with traditional vietnamese identity, the project is inspired by the covered porches of traditional houses, creating a cool, shady space suitable for the tropical climate. The exterior of the building is designed with basic color and light facade, in order to create a feeling of a pure, friendly place in the centre of the urban area, which might be contrast to the surrounding boring and sad concrete blocks
A big roof is created in order to prevent the building from bad sunlight and rain. Then, a space under the roof can be used as space for oudoor activities.

Concept and idea
In this project, the design team’s goal is creating a new experience for visitors and a landmark project in the area. The project consists of 3 main blocks located on a hilly terrain surface to create an interesting gathering place for visitors and local residents, interspersed with green trees. The underground exhibition spaces are linked together by ramps.

This project aims to help students become familiar with the genre of large-scale industrial architecture, apply learned design principles to the design of industrial clusters, production complexes…
Textile and garment factories belong to the light industry, are easily flammable,explosive. This kind of factory has an average level of pollution and require environmental treatment by appropriate equipment. This project is located in a light industrial park (Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City), adjacent to a residential area.

This block provides a modern and fresh working - environment for the staffs and the teachers who works here. In the first floor, there is a lobby which has the reception and some sofas for the visitors.
Culinary training
This area is providing basic knowledge for students who want to work in culinary industry. There are spaces and rooms that have full amenties (kitchens, sinks, fridges,...) for students to develop their skills.
Canteen - library
This area is located in the center of the project and near the school’s yard, in order to create a close-tonature space for the users. There is also a first-aid room, in case of emergency.
First-aid skill training
This area provides student knowledge and technique to deal with emergency (first-aid, venomous animal bitten, self - protection,...). This block is located near to the canteen-library area in order to transmit learning-equipment easily.
Financial management training
In this area, students learn how to manage their finacial situation reasonably which can help them stablizing their life and preventing them from losing their income.
Social communicating skill training
In this area, students are taught to improve their social communication skill. They ‘ll learn to behave suitably in different working environment.
Office - working skill training
In this area, students learn to improve office skills such as team-work, presentation skill, timemanagement,... In order to increade effectiveness in the job’s result.
