EPIC TASTING EXPERIENCE Enjoy five tasting bites prepared by hatted Muse Restaurant, each paired with a different Hungerford Hill wine. SCARBOROUGH SENSORY SCHOOLING Looking for a fun and educational way to learn about wine characters and aromas? Our Sensory Schooling tasting experience is hosted by a dedicated Scarborough sensory chaperone. Firstly, we put your nose to the test as you smell your way through a variety of sensory items and see what aromas you can recognise. You’ll be amazed at the techniques we use to help you enhance your sense of smell. LEOGATE CHEESE, CHARCUTERIE & CHARDONNAY FLIGHT Discover the different styles of Chardonnay produced by Leogate Estate Wines and learn about the history of the renowned Brokenback Vineyard planted in the late 1960s and how its rich terroir influences the varying characteristics of this signature wine style from the vine to the bottle. VINEYARD TOUR, WINE TASTING & BLENDING WORKSHOP Calling all wine enthusiasts! Immerse yourself in a hands-on, 2 ½ hour experience where you’ll learn about the winemaking process from vine to bottle. This event begins with a guided tour of our Mount View vineyard, and you are then split into groups and guided through a tasting of six red wines from our estate-grown vineyards chosen by our winemaker Alex Beckett while enjoying a delicious Binnorie Dairy cheese platter. FLICKERFEST 2019 FLiCKERFEST is a short film festival that kicks off at Bondi Beach in January and then travels the country. For the third time, FLiCKERFEST is coming to the Hunter Valley. The Around Hermitage Wine, Food and Film Festival will be screening a selection Short Films at Peter Drayton’s Ironbark Hill Brewhouse. Join us for a fun evening of Wine, Food and Film! BURNING OF THE BARREL The Burning of the Barrel is just about the best night you can have in the Hunter Valley. Think wine, cheese, food, music, fireworks, families, starry nights and a bloody massive fire all nestled at the base of the Brokenback Moutain range on the Glandore Estate property. And yes, we do burn a barrel. What started quite humbly has grown into a Signature Event for the Hunter Valley Wine and Food Festival and is a talked about event for the whole year before and after. Olive Long Table Luncheon This annual alfresco lunch is held among the olive groves with live music throughout the afternoon. It kicks off with a walking tour of the groves and vineyards. A four-course menu will follow, designed by talented chef Frank Fawkner to highlight the quality and flexibility of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and olives, complemented with matching Whispering Brook wines. This year we are excited to welcome as our special guest speaker, a well-known and accomplished Australian intellectual property lawyer and wine science graduate, Marion Heathcote.
