The “Poor”: An Obscurantism of the Bourgeoisie By Humberto Gómez Sequeira-HuGóS | Friday, September 1, 2017
Donald John Trump, declared he loves the “rich” and the “poor”, but that he didn’t want the latter to be part of his government. Thus, the fiery and furious member of the bourgeoisie defended his appointment of a billionaire as Secretary of the Department of Commerce. Can’t a “poor” person govern? This isn’t the question, but the bourgeoisie’s consciousness that it must control the State as the scepter of its power and identity. The “poor” is an obscurantism of the bourgeoisie that it uses to try to hide their condition of exploited class. In reality, they are the remains of the human carbon that the bourgeoisie burnt to make the industrial revolution and enrich itself. The bourgeoisie loves the “poor” because they are the human condition of inequality for their existence. But it also hates them and doesn’t trust them because they represent the life of suffering it has created for them and agitates the base of its power.
