Despite the challenges posed by the power outages in numerous households, Minister Banožić expressed optimism regarding positive developments in the restoration of electricity connections. The ongoing efforts are geared towards providing relief to those enduring the brunt of the impact.

As of today, there are 203 members of the Croatian army actively operating in the affected county, and the ministry indicates that almost 300 more personnel are available to offer assistance if required.

A joint and comprehensive approach to mitigating the hazards for citizens and their properties is being undertaken. The Croatian Electric Power Company, Water Company, Croatian Forests, �ire�ighters, and employees of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service are working collaboratively with the Croatian Army to address the situation and eliminate potential dangers.

Minister Banožić, in his commitment to assessing the gravity of the situation �irsthand, personally visited all the affected areas in Slavonia facing catastrophic consequences due to the storm.

To tackle the extensive damage caused by the storm, various teams have been deployed on the ground. Notably, there were 150 members of the general-purpose civil protection, supplemented by an additional 100 �ire�ighters equipped with saws and power generators necessary for cleaning and restoring damaged areas. Additionally, 60 members of the State Intervention Unit, who possess expertise in working at heights, and 30 members of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service specialised in handling work in elevated and inaccessible locations, are actively contributing to the restoration efforts, as announced by the civil protection.

The combined dedication of these teams, working cohesively to restore essential services and ensure the safety of citizens, underscores the nation’s commitment to overcoming adversity and helping those impacted by the storm in Slavonia.
