Texoma Patriots meeting Tuesday

The Texoma Patriots will meet tomorrow night, Oct. 29 at Buck Snort BBQ in Van Alstyne and hear from Texas State Representative Reggie Smith (District 62), who will go over the 10 amendments to the Texas Constitution on the November 5 ballot. The Texoma Patriots discuss the pros and cons of each amendment. The knowledge gained from this discussion will hopefully assist voters in understanding how each of these amendments could affect you.

Ten amendments to the Texas Constitution were passed by the Legislature during the 86th legislative session. Constitutional amendments differ from regular bills in that they require voter approval before they take effect. This process helps assure that the basic core principles of the state which are set forth in its Constitution remain in the hands of those who choose to be governed by those principles.

The doors will open at 5 pm with the meeting starting at 7 pm. Jim Smith offers us a special price for the buffet on meeting night.
