Howe Intermediate Top Dogs

Three students were recognized in front of the school board last Monday. Nicolas Brewer was honored for his completion of Speech Therapy and Bailee White and Kason Capps were recognized for completing the Take Flight Dyslexia program. Dyslexia & GT Teacher Darby Bryant thanked the board for their financial support of the program which is through Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

“We work on phonemic awareness, alphabetic principles, and they do sight-work flash cards every single day,” said Bryant. “They have letter sounds and pic- tures to go with those letter sounds.”

Bryant, gave an emotional speech to the board showing her compassion towards her skillset of working with children.

“Kason and Bailee have really helped me learn and have been patient with me,” said Bryant, who recently completed the 2year program and qualified to become a Therapist.

Speech Therapist teacher Susie Nesmith recognized four students that graduated this month from speech therapy. She recognized Brewer for amazing progress.
