The Pride of Howe Marchi Band of Howe High Schoo received a new wrap on the band trailer recently thank contributing sponsors. The Howe 5th and 6th grade were defeated by the Tom Bean Tomcats a few weeks back, but when it came time for the first round playoffs, Howe took advantage of their home field and won handily, 24-0

Cooper Jones intercepted a Tomcat pass at the Howe 30 yard line and ran it back to the Tom Bean 9 yard line, but Howe was unable to score The game was tied at the end of the first quarter

In the second, Howe got rolling with a 40-yard Tate Harvey score A J Haley hit Ryan Hough for the 2-point conversion to give Howe the 8-0 lead Moments later, Haley found Jones on the deep route for 48 yards which set up a Haley to Hough touchdown pass Haley then found Jones for the 2-point conversion in which Jones showed great heart fighting over the goal line Howe led 16-0 which was the halftime score

On the very first play of the second half, Carson Daniels threw a halfback pass to Jones for a 52yard score Haley hit Hough for the 2-point conversion and Howe led 24-0 with 6:36 left in the third

Howe's defense had the best game of the year and their first shutout Jacob Campbell led the way along with Mahlon Walker and Alex Sturgess Dax Foster and Matt Hayes played exceptionally well at cornerback

Howe will now play Bells in Leonard on Saturday at 3pm The winner of this game goes to the Super Bowl

1st and 2nd grade win nail-biter

The second seeded Bulldogs would head to Blue Ridge Saturday to take on the seventh seeded Trenton Tigers in round one of the Red River Playoffs The Dogs would come out fighting on the first play with a double reverse to Triston Williams that he would take 60 yards to the end zone Howe would continue their defensive dominance in the trenches with Aris Fox, Tank Turner, Eli Stoner and Will Ingram. The Dogs would run option with tailback Braden Ulmer and he would score his first of two on the day and take the

Dogs to the half with a 15-0 lead

Howe came out in the second half with quarterback Garren Lankford keeping the ball on the option play and finding his way to the end zone The last and final score of the day would come from Ulmer on an end-around where he would follow center Beau Stephens clearing traffic to the house

The Dogs win 28-0 over the Tigers and are know focused on another Tiger team just to the south at Blue Ridge next week for the second round in Leonard

The K-2 Bulldogs (5-2) traveled to Collinsville for the first round of playoffs Saturday to play the Leonard Tigers The first quarter was a full six minute battle ending in a score of 0-0 In the second quarter, the Tigers scored first and made the score 6-0 The Bulldogs were quick to respond with a long touchdown run by Kendall O'Brien and the extra point to put the Dogs on top 7-6

The remainder of the first half was held tight by the dominating defense of the Bulldogs led by Emerson Stevens, Charles Fuhr, and Riken Cross,. The second half proved to be a strong battle by both teams resulting in no further scoring until the fourth quarter

The Tigers scored early in the fourth resulting in a score of 12-7, but in a fight to the end and an outstanding demonstration by Gage Owen and Jordyn Farmer, the Bulldogs answered the challenge with a touchdown scored by Riken Cross to make the score Bulldogs 13, Tigers 12

The Bulldogs will travel to the second round of playoffs next Saturday in Leonard against the S&S Rams.
