The Howe Bulldogs (4-2, 01) had a 7-game home winning streak and hadn't lost at Bulldog Stadium since November of 2014 The Pottsboro Cardinals (51, 1-0) ended all of that with a 35-7 win over Howe on Friday night The 'Dogs knew Pottsboro would be their toughest opponent on their schedule in District 53A and opening district with that caliber of a team can be a good thing said Howe Head Coach Zack Hudson during the week

Howe Scout creates flag box for Eagle project

Gage King of Howe in seeking his promotion from Boy Scout to Eagle Scout will have to complete a Eagle Scout Service Project, which is a project that benefits the community and shows leadership Those projects take tremendous training and effort and King decided that his project would allow for the proper retirement of U S flags He got a big boost when he got some help from a local company to take his good idea and make it a spectacular one

Car Wrap City in Sherman's owner Scott Bechtel is a US Air Force veteran wanted to help with the project when he heard of it

What is the Silver Spike?

The Silver Spike trophy was the brainchild back in 2001 by sports writer Jeff Wood of the Van Alsty Leader and then future Howe Enterprise owner Monte Walker

Howe's next possession ended again with another punt by Wall which send Pottsboro back to their own 32 yard line That's when Howe forced a punt and were given a break with a a bad kick and a personal foul on Blake Poe which gave the 'Dogs the ball at the Pottsboro 24 yard line with 8:28 left before the half However, Wall threw his second interception of the night, this one by Carson Rein at the Pottsboro 1 yard line The Cardinals drove to midfield before turning the ball ove downs, but Howe was una score with a minute left be half Pottsboro took a 14into the locker room
