Renovation to kick start again on the old First Christian church
For all of those that helped contribute to the Save the Church fundraiser last November, your donations money is about to be spent quickly Volunteers such as Boyd Dunn have begun again working on the structure that was put in place in 1893 The building will have a total of four bathrooms and are currently being plumbed with all new water and sewer lines. The cost of the installation was $4,500 to a local contractor
This week Dunn will start building a porch that will connect the front door to the back door along the north side of the building It will have a handicap ramp from the middle of the north side of the building from the street to the porch

Also, the group is scheduling Jim Jackson Electric to rewire the entire building and finish it out with recessed lighting in the auditorium as well as three chandeliers
The committee will then have Baker Air Conditioning and Heating install the HVAC system

The renovation is being organized by the "Save the Church" committee which is headed up by Jean Norman who serves as president of the group. She is also a board member of the Howe Development Foundation which will operate the structure as a wedding venue upon completion
