Teacher of the Month

My name is Kristi Rhoten and I am currently teaching third grade at Howe Elementary. This is my 20th year of teaching and my first year in Howe My husband Wes, is coaching and is the assistant principal at the middle school and I have 2 daughters Landry is a junior and Emory is in the sixth grade

We are thrilled to be a part of such a quality district with great administrators and teachers I enjoy all sporting events and cheering on the Bulldogs!

School Board Recap

Howe ISD Board ot Trustees voted to refinance $6 5 million in bond debt - an expected savings of $750,000 in interest over the term of the bonds

They also awarded a bid to Lynn Vessels Construction to expand the parking at the high school which will add approximately 80 spaces in the main back lot and 20 spaces in the front of the building

The contracts were extended for the assistant superintendent, campus principals, and directors

Bulldogs beat S&S and Pottsboro

The Howe Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead on S&S and captured a 9-2 victory on Tuesday at Howe

The game was decided quickly as the Howe scored five early runs in the first three innings

An RBI single by Matt Griffin in the first inning and an RBI single by Peyton Reagan, an RBI double by Tyler Grisham, a wild pitch, and a steal of home by Brennan Ross during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Bulldogs

Triston "Stump" Matthews put himself in scoring position with two extra base hits He doubled in and Reagan combined for eight hits and three RBIs

In the fifth, Howe scored on an RBI triple by Matthews (who went 2 for 3) and an RBI single by Reagan (who went 3 for 3)

On Saturday, Howe beat Pottsboro 9-4 in eight innings at Pottsboro behind Ross, who collected four hits He singled in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings Griffin Underwood got the win for the Bulldogs He allowed four runs over seven innings; struck out eight, walked two and gave up 10 hits
