The Lady Bulldogs (8-1-1) slammed the door on renewed rival Van Alstyne by a score of 11-3 to take home the GCEC tournament championship The only bump in the road was a 2-2 tie with Whitewright, who knocked out Howe last year in state semifinal round

Howe started the tournament with an easy 11-0 win over Ector Payton Streetman pitched three shutout innings although walking three Erin Blackburn had a double, triple and four RBIs to lead the girls

Howe then tied Whitewright, 2-2

The Lady Tigers scored early and led 1-0, but it didn't take long for the Lady Bulldogs to answer as they scored two runs of their own in the first. The Lady Bulldogs scored on a groundout by Peyton Streetman and an RBI double by Kayla Anderson Streetman went all five innings allowing only one earned run

The next game was against Aubrey and Howe scored nine runs in the first three innings in route to a 13-3 win Madisyn Hargrove got the win for the Lady Bulldogs She allowed three runs over three innings She struck out five, walked one and surrendered one hit Anderson went 3 for 3 as she continued to swing the hot bat

Hargrove then faced Bells and went five strong innings allowing two earned runs Again, Anderson went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs The Lady Bulldogs won 7-3

The win over Bells thrusted Howe into the championship game with the home tournament team Van Alstyne Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Lady Bulldogs to put the game away early and eventually win, 11-3

A two-run double by Torrey Stubblefield, an RBI single by Emily Sanders, and a steal of home by Kayla Anderson during the first inning set the tone for the Lady Bulldogs

Madisyn Hargrove chalked a threerun homer in the third inning

Stubblefield got it done in the circle on the way to a win She allowed three runs over three innings She struck out eight, walked two and surrendered two hits
