In alignment with Houston Christian’s core values of Scholarship and Honor, the following outlines Houston Christian’s AI Usage Policy
The student may ONLY use artificial intelligence (Al) on an assignment or activity with teacher permission Disclosure is required. Unauthorized use of Al assistance on an assignment or activity is a violation of the HC Leadership Honor Code

Level of Use Full Description
Academic Integrity
The student may not use AI assistance to complete any portion of the assignment or activity
Students rely solely on their own knowledge, understanding, and skills
● The student may use AI to help unlock stalled thinking
● The student may use AI to facilitate brainstorming ideas, organizing thoughts, or clarifying understanding
● The student may not include AI content in the final submission.
Students use AI to help them when they are stuck
● The student may use AI to enhance work.
● The student may use AI to make improvements to the clarity or quality of work to improve the final output
● The student may be asked to provide documentation highlighting the changes made by AI
Students use AI to provide feedback on their own work
● The student may use AI to complete certain elements of the task, as specified by the teacher.
● The student must provide human oversight of all AI-generated content and evaluate its output
Students use AI to complete only specific parts of the assignment Any AI-created content must be cited
● The student may use AI throughout the assignment to support his/her work in any way deemed necessary.
● The student is responsible for oversight and evaluation of all AI-generated content
Students use AI as a ‘co-pilot’ to enhance human creativity Any AI-created content must be cited

● The student may utilize AI to study class material independently of a specific assignment or activity without citation
● The student may never pass off work from AI sources as his or her own original product
● The student may never use AI assistance to complete the entire activity without generating their own original thoughts
● Any student using AI at a level other than the assigned level is in violation of Houston Christian’s Leadership Honor Code and Academic Integrity expectations It is the student's responsibility to clarify any ambiguity before turning in an assignment
