Fire!

This is an exciting and energetic piece for wind ensemble that captures the intense and dramatic nature of a fire. The composition uses vibrant rhythms, bold harmonies, and explosive dynamics to create the sensation of a fire starting small, building in intensity, and eventually becoming a blazing, uncontrollable force.

Papercut

The composition is designed to showcase the unique textures and sounds that can be created by a wind ensemble. Just like the title suggests, the piece is sharp, precise, and impactful, much like the sensation of a paper cut small yet significant.

7:00 - 9:00 PM

Band

Repertoire

Musou Tsuribashi

By Robert Francis

Musou Tsuribashi is a run-down suspension bridge in the Akaishi Mountains of Japan. This piece depicts the perilous journey of a traveler bold enough to attempt to cross it.

Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song

Samuel Hazo

Featuring Soloist: Sophie Kim on Harp

Narrated by Annabelle Cody

The piece moves through different sections that alternate between quiet, introspective moments and more intense, dramatic passages. The music also features rich orchestrations, blending Western harmonies and instrumentation with a Japanese melody, creating a cross-cultural musical experience.

7:00 - 9:00 PM

Band

Repertoire

Pixar Movie Magic

Since 1995 the creative team at Pixar Studios has given us heartwarming stories and unforgettable characters that appeal to audiences of all ages. In addition, the music created for these films is an integral part of their charm and popularity. Here is a terrific arrangement of these familiar melodies: The Glory Days ("The Incredibles"), The Spirit of Adventure ("Up"), Ratatouille Main Theme, The Big Race ("Cars") and You've Got a Friend in Me ("Toy Story").

Senior Recognitions and Band Awards

Halcyon Hearts

The title, "Halcyon," refers to a period of time that is peaceful and serene, often evoking an image of tranquility or a golden age. The music mirrors this sense of peacefulness, offering rich, flowing melodies and lush harmonies that invite the listener into a reflective and serene sound world.
