Meet Lynn Clouser

Lynn Clouser was fortunate to grow up watching her father unselfishly serve the community and often tagged along with him as he worked tirelessly for the people. Her parents – Judge Joel Clouser, Sr., her mother, Gloria – planted a seed of civic service in her heart that has blossomed throughout her life. Lynn is proud to raise her two children, Marshall (15) and Lauryn (9), in Missouri City, where they, too, volunteer on a regular basis in order to continue the Clouser legacy of leadership.

Lynn has lived most of her life in Missouri City, growing up in Chasewood and attending Fort Bend elementary and middle schools, before graduating from the High School for Health Professions and then obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University in Virginia. Lynn has worked in sales and marketing for more than 25 years, primarily in pharmaceuticals.

She joined Hope for Three in 2019, a local non-profit autism organization in Fort Bend County, as their Development Director after serving as a member of their Board of Directors for two years.

Lynn’s desire to be the next Missouri City City Council Member AtLarge, Position #2 comes from a place of passion and purpose. She will be accessible to all citizens, attend HOA meetings, community events, and host regular Town Hall meetings. Her leadership will be inclusive of all generations, ethnicities, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds in representing our city that is vastly diverse.

On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 6:39 am, I logged into my Facebook account and the first thing that popped up was this very heart-warming photo of Judge Joel C. Clouser, Sr. and his lovely wife standing at Missouri City Hall with their masks on waiting for voters to show up in support of their daughter Lynn Clouser who is the only candidate endorsed by Houston Business Connections Newspaper© in the ongoing runoff election that will culminate on Saturday, December 12, 2020. I know that the Clouser’s are in a unique situation, given campaign laws that prohibit Judge Clouser from endorsing his daughter in her quest to unseat Councilman Chris Preston in the AtLarge Position #2 race for City Council in “The Show Me City.” Man, that’s got to be tough – especially since their daughter Lynn needs every vote she can get.

LYNN IS THE FRONT-RUNNER

The million-dollar question for many Missouri City, Texas voters heading into Saturday, December 12, 2020, is whether or not Lynn Clouser will unseat Councilman Chris Preston who has, until now, mastered the art of winning runoff elections. Why did I say until now? Well, I’m saying this, because Councilman Preston barely escaped defeat against his last African American female opponent (Cynthia Lenton Gary) by the mere margin of (9) nine votes. Yes, you heard me right, he only beat Cynthia Lenton Gary by nine votes. But there’s a big difference between the approach that was used by Cynthia Lenton Gary and the one instituted by Lynn Clouser. How can I say this? Well, for first off, back on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Lynn Clouser shook things up by finishing several thousand votes ahead of Councilman Chris Preston in the final vote tally. For those of you who don’t remember, Councilman Chris Preston only received 11,945 votes, for 42.17% of the vote, while Clouser racked up 13,332 votes, for 47.07% of the vote. And the third-place finisher, James Mable pulled in 3,046 votes for 10.75% of the vote. So, that being said, Lynn Clouser, positioned herself and the front-runner in the At-Large Position #2 race in my opinion.

RUNOFF BY THE NUMBERS

Finishing first in the general election is one thing, but pulling off a runoff election victory against Councilman Preston on Saturday, December 12th is something else altogether. Especially, when you have the Fort Bend County Democratic Chair, Cynthia M. Ginyard out there endorsing your opponent. But where do things stand right now, heading into Election Day? Well, it’s tough to say, but I would be really surprised if Lynn Clouser doesn’t defeat Councilman Chris Preston by a wide margin on Saturday. But, even with that said, I’ve learned over the years – to make it a point to have my clients run like they’re 10-points down. After all, you can’t take anything for granted in this business. And while Lynn Clouser’s Campaign was very limited in their “RUNOFF ELECTION BUDGETING” due to COVID-19 wreaking havoc on Fort Bend County, her name identification has uniquely positioned in this race. And from looking at the early voting numbers, if they hold to form, I believe that Lynn Clouser could be ahead. How can I say this? Well, at a glance I

have a hard time fathoming the notion that Councilman Preston ran up huge numbers at the Missouri City Community Center (early voting location), or the Quail Valley Fund Office (early voting location), against Lynn Clouser.

In case you don’t know, 2,421 voters cast their vote inperson at the Missouri City Community Center, and 3,537 voters cast their vote early in-person at the Quail Valley Fund Office between Monday, November 30, 2020, and Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

ABSENTEE BALLOT COUNT

The absentee mail-in ballots are a little scary. Why? Well, even with COVID-19 wreaking havoc on Fort Bend

County, I’m still hearing a lot of chatter around the subject of “ABSENTEE BALLOT HARVESTING” taking place. I hope not, but if we see a lopsided return in the mail-in ballots, I’m going to investigate them. Anyways, according to the Fort Bend County Election Administrator, there was 4,508 absentee ballot requested, and of those, 2,211 of the absentee ballots requested have been returned so far.
