Julia Maldonado is the Presiding Judge of the 507th Family District Court in Harris County. Julia was elected to the 507th District Court in the November 2018 election. She is currently the Administrative Judge - Family Law Division of Harris County. Out of the ten family court judges, Julia is the senior judge.

Julia was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico and came to the United States as a young child. Julia was raised in the Heights area and she now calls Houston her hometown!

Julia is a product of Houston ISD public schools, having attended Robert E. Lee Elementary, Cooley Elementary, Hamilton Jr. High and John R. Reagan High School. After graduation from high school, Julia went on to pursue an accounting degree from the University of Houston–Downtown and a law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Prior to being elected in November 2018, Julia was a practicing attorney at the J. Maldonado Law Firm, P.C., which she started in 2008. The J. Maldonado Law Firm, P.C. was a general legal practice firm, representing clients in Texas state and federal courts in the areas of immigration, criminal, family, tax, and probate matters. Prior to establishing her law firm, Julia was a solo practitioner.

Julia has been practicing law for over twenty (20) years and has had the opportunity to appeal several cases in the Texas Court of Appeals, including a case to the Texas Supreme Court.

Prior to Julia becoming an attorney she was an accountant for

over fifteen (15) years and worked in the construction industry.

Julia is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Julia is also a member of The College of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston and has been a member of the Pasadena Bar Association. During 2013-2014, she was the President for the Mexican American Bar Association and from 2009 to 2011 she served as a Board Member for the Pasadena Bar Association.

Julia is a member of the University Area Rotary Club.

Prior to being elected Judge, Julia was the counsel for the Rotary Firefighter Home Project.

Julia has two adult sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons.

Cast Your Vote for Judge Fredericka Phillips on Tues., November 3, 2020

Fredericka Phillips is a mother, judge, and community organizer. She is a native of Beaumont, Texas where she began her early involvement in politics and law through her participation in voter registration drives and canvasses with local civic organizations including the Beaumont Branch of the NAACP. Fredericka attended college at Lamar University Beaumont where she received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice graduating cum laude in 1996. She attended law school in Houston at South Texas College of Law where she was a member of law review. Fredericka received her Juris Doctorate in May 2000 and practiced law in for over 17 years law representing clients across the country in state and federal courts including successfully arguing cases before the US Fifth Circuit and the Texas Supreme Court.

Fredericka’s practice covered all areas of civil litigation from personal injury to complex business litigation to collections. In November 2016, Fredericka was elected judge of the 61st District Court. She began serving as the first African American female judge of the 61st District Court on January 1, 2017. Fredericka has been a frequent speaker at legal education seminars. Fredericka was also recently appointed to oversee the civil seizure & forfeiture docket for all civil courts. Fredericka was also selected to be a member of the Texas Bar Foundation, Fredericka believes in helping others and uses her legal expertise to give back to her community. She has volunteered her time over the years in pro bono activities with the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and served as an Election Protection volunteer lawyer for the 2008 and 2012 election cycles protecting all citizens access to the polls and right to vote. As a mother, Fredericka also knows the importance great role models play in helping to shape our future generations. As such, Fredericka has also volunteered her time working with children at DePelchin Children’s Center, building houses for Habitat for Humanity, and raising money for and participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and the Sisters Network African American Breast Cancer Walk. She also served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for several years. Fredericka is also a frequent speaker at empowerment seminars for women and girls and conferences centering around political engagement.

Mary Nan Huffman grew up with her four siblings in Denton, Texas. Huffman watched her parents’ involvement in local politics and learned from an early age the importance of public service. While in law school, she worked at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office and developed a passion for criminal prosecution.

Mary Nan Huffman served as a prosecutor in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for almost 10 years, rising quickly to become the Chief Felony Prosecutor in the Child Exploitation Division and over the Internet Crimes Against

The Huffman Family Children (ICAC) Division. During her time as Chief of Child Exploitation, she prosecuted a wide range of internet-related crimes committed against children: child human trafficking; the possession, production, and promotion of child pornography, child sexual assault; and any other case involving the sexual exploitation of children online. She directed the work of multi-agency task forces from federal, state, and local agencies.

Huffman’s work as a prosecutor of child exploitation cases has earned criminal conviction yielding 11 life sentences and four 99-year sentences. She has earned a national reputation and is sought after as a special prosecutor for difficult child exploitation prosecutions.

Huffman now works as an attorney for the Houston Police Officers’ Union representing officers in a variety of matters associated with duties as an officer.

Mary Nan has been married to Eli Huffman III for 11 years. The Huffman family attends St. Cecilia Catholic Church. They have 2 young sons.

Eric’s cases cover commercial and business litigation, fraud and negligence actions, contractual disputes, personal and business torts, federal SEC regulations, real estate transactions, landlord/tenant actions, and more. His experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

The cases he finds especially gratifying are his appointments as Guardian Ad Litem. Entrusted to act as an agent of the State District Courts, he is committed to work for the benefit of injured children in Harris County.

Judge Carter was first elected to Justice of the Peace in 2016.

Community service, for Eric, began at an early age.

He worked with his parents, volunteering through his local church, to repair flood damaged homes. As a teenage member of the Amigos de las Américas — a community health-promotion program serving Central and South America — he travelled to La Maravilla, Costa Rica to work for two months. For his efforts, he received a Presidential Student Service Award from President Bill Clinton.

Covid-19 and Maintaining Your Voter Registration

In these trying times, we are all experiencing new hardships--including loss of income and even eviction.

You still have the right to vote. Covid-19 might have affected you personally or your family, but you will still have a chance to shape the future of Houston and Harris County by voting.

Recently evicted, homeless, etc.? --you have certain rights under the law regarding your right to vote. Those rights are determined by whether you were registered before or after your involuntary change in address.

Registered beforehand? Notify the local voter registrar about your change in status and where you intend to live next. You will receive a new, corrected certificate.

You will be able to vote with your new precinct information 30 days after your notice has been received.

Meanwhile: You may vote a full ballot with your former precinct information if your registration has not become effective with your new precinct information in time for the current election.

Didn’t get a chance to register? The law is clear that you have the right to register to vote so long as you meet the residency requirements, even if that is a shelter, church, park, etc. The key is to provide a mailing address that you can easily receive mail at in addition to the approximate physical address you maintain your current (hopefully temporary) residency. Your new registration card will have both the approximate physical location and the mailing address where you are sending the card.

The goal is to maintain your precious right to vote.

Some may still find themselves on the voter suspension list. If your registration is in “suspense”, you can still vote.

Your voter registration is NOT cancelled. “In order to maintain the accuracy of the voter roll, voters put on suspense who have not provided the voter registrar with a new Harris County address are to be removed from the voter roll in accordance with Sec. 16.032 of the Election Code. The Election Code specifies that a suspended voter is to be removed (purged) from the voter roll on the November 30, of the even year after the voter has been

on suspense for two general elections. The voter registrar maintains a list of suspended voters purged from the voter roll.”

A voter whose status is on suspense is eligible to vote in an election provided that the voter completes a Statement of Residence either when voting by mail or at the polls prior to voting (within the same county as the voter’s current registration) or (if the voter has moved to a new county) completes a Limited Ballot application during Early Voting at the main early voting polling place. A voter on Suspense who has moved within the same county would be allowed to vote on Election Day by returning to the precinct in which the voter previously resided and completing a Statement of Residence at that time. A voter may also complete a Voter Registration Application to update his/her address prior the Registration Cutoff deadline for any election and send the newly updated application to the Voter Registrar in the county in which the voter resides.--Texas Secretary of State Don’t let Covid-19 deter you from keeping our country free and our democracy safe. Former FBI Agent Charles “Chuck” Marler Has Set His Sights on Local Businessman Gerald Womack

Businessman Gerald Womack is considered by some people to be a “KINGMAKER” in local Harris County, Texas politics. His business dealings run deep.

But his footprint in Harris County politics is much deeper.

In case you don't know, Gerald Womack is known as a shrewd businessman in the real estate world here locally.

He's loved by a bunch of folks, revered by many others, and yes, even hated by a few. Even still, he's really not someone you want to cross the wrong way in the “POLITICAL WORLD” if you know what I mean. Why? Well, he’s the right-hand man of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, the U.S. Representative for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. With Womack's help, Congresswoman Lee has won election after election by dominating her opponents in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT CATEGORY” in the 18th Congressional District. But according to former FBI agent and Private Investigator Chuck Marler, whether or not the victories are tainted is questionable. That being said, Charles "Chuck" Marler (a surveillance specialist) is claiming to have credible allegations that Gerald Womack, is allegedly running an illegal ballot harvesting operation in Harris County, Texas. And with his 4412 Almeda Road – Houston, Texas 77004 location also listed as the address for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee for Congress – Marler believes the allegations he’s received are worthy of an investigation and has decided to put his team to work.

Why? Well, according to Marler, we don’t have to look much further than the results of the Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Democratic Party Primary race for United States Congress for the 18th Congressional District to see why he’s going to be watching the “KNOWN ABSENTEE BALLOT HARVESTERS” very closely in the weeks leading up to the Tuesday, November 3, 2020, general election.

What is he talking about? Well, somehow, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee received 6,202 absentee ballot votes – which turned out to be more than the “TOTAL VOTE COUNT” of any of her Democratic Party primary challengers. What’s wrong with this? Well, it was rumored in some political circles that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee had around 6,000 (or so) “ABSENTEE BALLOTS” to her credit before Election Day even arrived.

How dominant was her performance in the “ABSENTEE BALLOT CATEGORY” back in the primaries? Well, as a refresher, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee received,

6,202 absentee ballots; Mark Flores only received 271 absentee ballots; Jerry Ford Sr. only received 168 absentee ballots; Michael Allen only received 118 absentee ballots, Bimal Patel only received 70 absentee ballots; Stevens Orozco only received 70 absentee ballots; Donovan Boson only received 33 absentee ballots to round out the field of six Democrats who were challenging Congresswoman Lee. On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee will face off against Wendell Champion in the race for the 18th Congressional District of Texas. Early voting will begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, and end on Friday, October 30, 2020, in Texas.

Gerald Womack A Local Businessman Get’s Paid a Visit by Former FBI Agent and Private Investigator Charles "Chuck" Marler

Whether you believe “ABSENTEE BALLOT HARVESTING” is a “BIG PROBLEM” in Harris County, Texas, or not is beside the point now – according to Charles Marler, a local private investigator who worked for the FBI for 16-years. “I’m going to bring an end to the “ABSENTEE BALLOT HARVESTING” game if it’s the last thing I do while here on this earth,” says Marler. “This crap has gone on too long in our county,” he explained. And from the information I’ve gathered, I have a very good reason to believe Gerald Womack is one of the ring-leaders who is enabling and employing known harvesters. According to his website, the mission of Womack Development & Investment Realtors is to provide premier real estate services to his clients, resulting in lifelong business relationships and complete customer satisfaction. “The name Gerald Womack has been on my radar for some time now,” says Marler. “I have credible allegations that Womack, is running an illegal ballot harvesting operation in Harris County,” explained Marler, in a letter he sent di-

rectly to Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins last week on Thursday, September 3, 2020. “There are witnesses that I have spoken with regarding his operation. The witnesses have also alleged that two employees at the Harris County Clerk's office are facilitating the illegal activity by walking in illegal absentee ballots and placing them in with the legal ballots,” Marler alleges. “This of course presents an even bigger problem if mail-in balloting is expanded because this illegal activity will only grow,” said Maller in his plea to Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins. “I am continuing to investigate this activity and wanted you to be aware of this,” he went on to say. Marler closed out his letter to Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins by asking for his help. “Please help me get to the bottom of this and I appreciate your attention to this matter. The citizens of Harris County are depending on you.”
