General Information Accommodation Ratings To assist with the selection of your accommodation we have created our own rating system allowing you to compare each property. These are personal ratings offered by our people from their own experience and should therefore be used as a guide only. These ratings may alter throughout the year due to a change of circumstances. Moderate accommodation with a reasonable range of room facilities and good level of comfort usually with a wide range of recreational and leisure activities available for guest enjoyment. Superior accommodation offering exceptional level of comfort in rooms with quality furnishings and fixtures. There tends to be greater attention to personalised service and strong focus on quality food and beverages. First Class accommodation, the resorts have a reputation built on quality and exclusivity and offer the very best services with detailed focus on high customer satisfaction and are usually located in prime locations. A half star is noted when the level of service and facilities falls between two grades. Grading accommodation can be quite subjective and generally speaking the standard and services will be in line with the price paid. Please check with your travel consultant to ensure you get the accommodation that best fits your needs. Price Indicator: The price is provided as a guide only. It is in New Zealand dollars based on low season per person share twin pricing unless otherwise specified and is correct at the time of publishing. The actual price may differ to that indicated in this brochure due to currency fluctuations, special events or peak periods. Your travel consultant will quote you the actual price at time of booking. Child Policy: Please note bedding configuration varies between properties and in some cases with different room types within a property. Some hotels also offer family bonuses and specials. Your travel consultant will help you choose the hotel to best suit you and your family's needs. Look out for our "gems" of information scattered throughout our Fiji brochure.
FIJI We’re a lucky nation. As New Zealanders we live on the doorstep to Fiji: arguably, heaven on earth. For many, it’s a 'one day' holiday; a destination to dream about, or a desktop background on an office computer. But not for us. For Kiwis, it’s just a 3 hour flight away. Whether you’re planning your first holiday to Fiji or your tenth, Fiji warms the heart and feeds the soul with a diversity of experiences catering for all tastes and ages. From picnicking on a deserted white sandy beach with a loved one, immersing yourself in the Fijian culture and food, snorkelling the crystal lagoons, to riding the rapids of Navua River on Viti Levu. Discover more with a small ship cruise, where itineraries forge a route through some of Fiji’s most jaw-dropping islands. Get off the beaten track and explore some of the lesser-visited islands such as Vanua Levu and Taveuni, or the Lau and Kadavu Islands which are rarely seen by tourists. Whatever you decide, there is no doubt you’ll find your place of happiness. It’s really Cloud 9 here on earth – and at your fingertips. Here’s every reason and handy tips as to why Fiji is your perfect holiday.
6 T I PS FO R YOU R HOLIDAY
Everyone knows that the islands of Fiji are perfect for a great family holiday, whether it be with your children or including the grandparents and inlaws. The Fijian people have such a natural love of kids, from the moment they arrive they’ll feel welcomed and relaxed and will return home with fond memories. The Coral Coast and Mamanuca Islands offer a diverse selection of resorts ideal for families with array of facilities and activities suited to all.
1 / LUXURY ESCAPES By its very definition, a Fijian holiday is luxurious. From languid days by private pools, to toes-in-the-sand fine dining, everyone can have the Rockstar treatment. Premium resorts deliver massages before sunset and sunrises from over-water bungalows, such as those at Likuliku Lagoon Resort Fiji. If island hopping appeals but your sea legs aren’t quite as robust as you’d like, opt for seaplane or helicopter transfers. Exotic resorts such as Vomo Island Fiji and Six Senses Fiji are just 15 minutes from Nadi Airport via helicopter, what an incredible way to add a truly special experience to your luxury adventure. Go all-out, or totally low-key, you can relax by the infinity pool, zen-out in beachfront spas, or zip off to deserted islands on chartered yachts. Whatever your preference, Fiji is guaranteed indulgence.
3 / FAMILY FUN & SMILES
2 / CULTURE ABOUNDS Resorts are rich in cultural insight, with many hotels organising traditional performances and village market visits. Elsewhere you’ll find classic ‘bures’ and live like Fijian residents. You can build your own cultural experience with Awesome Adventures. Specialising in Yasawa Island hopping, get dropped at small family-run resorts, or beautiful rustic lodges. With flexible boat transfers between islands, finding authentic Fiji is easy. Switch between snorkelling and sunbathing, to traditional lovo feast and banana tree planting.
GUIDE TO FIJI,
Helpful hints for travelling with littlies
6 / PERSONALISED WELLNESS The sun’s vitamin D, beachside massages and a local fave - 'Bu' (green coconut juice) will all make you feel divine, but for a little extra indulgence, some of Fiji’s resorts max-out on wellness. Koro Sun Resort Fiji’s Rainforest Spa, situated in Fiji's North, is the full shebang - nestled in virgin rainforest and beside its very own waterfall. We also love the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa, especially the hydro-therapy pool and on-site steam and ice room. For those after a detox, Six Senses’ personalised wellness program starts with a wellness screening, followed by a unique-to-you treatment and nutritional advice. There’s also the hillside Yoga Pavillion, with flying yoga hammocks, a really fun way to get fit.
4 / FIJI HAS AN ADVENTURE CAPITAL Dishing out enough golden shoreline to rival the rest of Fiji, Pacific Harbour might be known as the “Adventure Capital”, but it’s also home to ample relaxing resorts. Just under an hour’s drive from Suva, it’s the perfect combination of relaxation mixed with jet skiing, kayaking and white-water rafting. Zip lines will swoop you over Fijian jungle and shark dives will submerge you into a watery underworld. Pacific Harbour is equal parts adrenaline and glorious downtime.
5 / MORE FUN, LESS EXPENSE There’s a Fiji holiday to suit every budget. To save maximum dollars, look out for resort deals where kids can stay, play and eat free, usually up to the age of 11, or our best value holiday packages jam packed with extra bonuses and inclusions. All-inclusive holidays such as at The Naviti Resort (a Kiwi favourite) are great because you pay for everything in advance. Package deals often include accommodation, meals, unlimited drinks, resort tours, nightly entertainment and water activities.
As we all know from experience Mum and Dad won’t relax on holiday until the kids are happy. Being prepared for plane travel, a hotter climate, a different style of accommodation and food choices will really help your little ones settle more quickly into their new environment... which means Mum and Dad will get some much deserved R & R too! We have a selection of family friendly resorts that offer Kids STAY, PLAY and EAT FREE! INTERCONNECTING ROOMS Ask about interconnecting rooms, two bedroom villas or bures. You may be pleasantly surprised by the price difference and it means the kids can have their own space for daytime sleeps while the rest of the family can move about more easily. PORTACOTS Remember to put in a request for a portacot for your toddler. Its best to ask for their largest as they do vary in size. Ensuring your little one sleeps well is paramount. KIDS CLUBS Make the most of the Kids Clubs! Fiji can boast having some of the best in the South Pacific and cater for children from 3 years. Nanny services are also very affordable and are available throughout the day and evening. KIDS MENUS Kids menus can be sourced from the hotels so don’t hesitate to ask your consultant. They can also make enquiries about highchairs and kids facilities, it makes decision making around what to take over with you a lot easier knowing in advance what the options are. AIRCON Request air conditioning to ensure the kids get a good night’s sleep as rooms can still be hot and sticky when fan cooled especially on the outer islands where it’s always a few degrees hotter than the mainland.

This brochure showcases a collection of hotels, resorts, experiences and sightseeing tours that we believe Kiwi’s look for in a South Pacific holiday. Small ship cruising is another way to experience the idyllic Mamanuca and Yasawa islands where every day on your itinerary is different. Contemplate adding on activities or experiences. OUR FAVOURITE THINGS TO SEE AND DO Denarau Marina – Just a 20 minute drive from Nadi, the marina is the main departure point for half and full day cruises to the beautiful Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. There are a selection of bars, restaurants, takeouts, shopping and a mini supermarket. It’s a vibrant atmosphere in the evenings and is a popular spot for tourists and locals.
Shark diving at Beqa Island Fiji – Get up close and personal – safely - with up to eight different kinds of sharks. It's possible to spot Blacktip Reef Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks, Silvertip Sharks, Tawny Nurse Sharks, Sicklefin Lemon Sharks, Bull Sharks and even the occasional Tiger Shark.
Ed's Bar – Ed’s is a bit of an institution with a personality all of its own. Most nights it lures a buzzing and mixed crowd of tourists, locals and expats. It’s more than just a watering hole though – they have live bands and there’s a small restaurant attached.
Surf's Up – Home to some of the most challenging waves in the world, watch the pro-surfers keep their cool at ‘Cloudbreak’ off Tavarua Island. Frequently attracting big surf names such as Kelly Slater, they come for the top surf breaks and tough swells.
Nadi & Namaka Markets – On offer is a wide variety of fruit, vegetables and other produce and one whole section is dedicated to kava only. These are great places to stock up for that picnic. The Fijian pineapples are especially worth sampling and are quite a bit smaller but much sweeter than other pineapples.
Head to Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park – Most people say “erosion” like it’s a bad thing, but it’s exactly what we have to thank for the Sigatoka Sand Dunes. They’re between 20 and 60 metres tall across nearly 650 hectares! As you explore, keep your eyes peeled, the Fiji sevens team trains here, so you might get lucky and spot them.

Add to this the Denarau Marina shopping centre and you’ve got a great holiday experience.
