Dear hospitality professional, It is our pleasure to invite to you to the 4th edition of HotelloTOP Belgium, the networking event for alumni of International Hotel Management Schools and professionals in the hospitality industry, which will take place on Tuesday March 28th 2017 during VENUEZ17 in Antwerp.

HotelloTOP is well-known internationally, and to maintain the international character the congress will be in English for the first time. This year, the event is linked to the theme ‘Destination Success 2.1’. It will show how we can determine if and when we are fortunate in our positions and our industry. We reached a new era. An era in which we are looking for motivational drivers to inspire us. What are those drivers and how can we use them? What makes us define if we reached our goals? That is why we ask you: What is your flight (plan) to success?

Our inspiring Keynote Speakers will show you how they envision their future, how they determine if they reached their goals and how they define success.

Besides that, hospitality professionals will show you what they did to become successful via interactive TOP Talks. Of course, there is plenty of time to meet new people, exchange thoughts and to do business while enjoying drinks and bites. We look forward to welcoming you on Tuesday March 28th!

‘DESTINATION SUCCESS 2.1’ Success can have different interpretations; it is a matter of personal preference. Organisational structures are changing and new business models are arising. We shifted from a world of materialism to a world of mentalism. Is this happening because we are no longer satisfied with monetary value? How do we determine if we are happy, what generates the added value and how do we recognize that?

Talented people no longer choose a company for its primary conditions: they are looking for development possibilities and ‘the higher purpose’. How can we, as professionals, make sure that those talents stay within the hospitality industry and make sure they feel successful? Success can also mean ‘significance to others’, ‘doing what you want to do’ and ‘utilising your talent for a greater cause’. But what happens when the ‘greater cause’ obstructs us from doing what we want to do? Do we collapse and give up, or do we strike back?

Success is not a fixed fact anymore; it moves with the individual’s phase of life and the world around him or her. Today’s challenge is to find out what drives us, what is important and what generates the most value. What makes us define if we have reached our destination?

When passion turns into success

Serge worked on various projects and concepts for companies within the hospitality industry. He is the person to go to when advice is needed on how to deal with the fast changing and dynamic world.

Serge worked with companies such as Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Ritz Carlton, Different Hotels, the Carlton Hotel collection, ABInBev, HMSHost and a variety of retail brands. He will inspire you with his vision on conceptual thinking and will share several trends and shifts within society, influencing the fast evolving hospitality industry.

Alain was intrigued by bread from a young age, since his grandparents ran a hotel and always baked their own bread. Therefore it was logical that Alain studied at the Hotelschool in Namur. As a young chef, Alain could not find the right bread for his restaurant. He returned to his roots and opened a small bakery in Brussels, soon followed by offering salads and toast on a large table. Success came rapidly after, and the rest is history; Le Pain Quotidien restaurants are still opening all over the world. Alain is the Company’s Chief Creative Officer and the driving force behind the company formula. He will take you into the world of Le Pain Quotidien and how he defines success.
